My friend is getting married in about two weeks and I have no idea what to buy her. I write poetry, so I was thinking of maybe writing a poem for her, and getting it framed. Is this a good idea?

she does not have a gift registry anywhere.

To be honest-when you are first married, you need a lot of stuff. I got a few decorative things but needed cookie sheets and utensils that no one had gotten me. I think the gesture is nice but perhaps pair it with something practical from her gift list.

She might enjoy it! But also think about her having a new home to fill.

poetry and art are always good ideas. As long as the poem doesn't say anything that could remotely upset her or in the future be related to maritial problems. Don't be specific with it. But still be personable.

That would be very nice, but have you checked out her gift registry yet? I think a homemade gift would be nice.

If you are still confused on if it is something she would like, you can also ask her.

good luck!

That is a great gift! Personal and from the heart -- you can't buy that from a registry!

No she will think you are self obsessed with your art. Hasn't she got a present list?

It's original, I would think it was cool. However, if she registered for stuff, she may really be hoping for something on that list.
