Nope. Because you aren't a vet, you can't diagnose what is wrong with your dog. Take your dog to the vet, confirm the diagnosis, and then use the treatment he recommends. As a dog owner, it's your responsibility to take the dog to the vet when he needs it.

Yes! The name of the medicine is Pranziquantle. You can get it at most big pet stores. Praziquantle (funny word) is the generic version of what the vet uses, Droncit, which is prescription.
If you go to the Droncit website, you will see the word Pranziquantle under it. Have used it on many a rescue and it works fine.

There are over the counter treatments you can get at the pet supply store. They aren't nearly as effective, and you may have to treat several times. The meds you can get from your vet are about 10 bucks, and work with 2 treatments. If you are already established with your vet, and you are sure they are tapeworms, you shouldn't have to actually see the vet, the vet tech should be able to just dispense you the meds.

The dog needs to be dewormed. I think you can buy a dewormer without prescription, but I would call the vet first for recomendations. Not all brands can be trusted!!!

There's something I've used before, would get it at the farmer's coop stores. Now walmart is selling it. It's expensive though, but I've had good luck with it. It's called D-Worm, (praziquantel). Be sure to follow the directions exactly though.

you need Cestex. The dosage is determined by the weight of the dog, so make sure you weigh the dog.

Not really and if you ignore the problem, the dog can die.
