I am of legal age, and I'm planning on drinking my first beer to fit in with my friends at parties.

I'm going to start off with a simple Budweiser, but I was wondering:

- What kind of dangers are there?
- Are there permanent affects like how cigarettes disable taste buds?
- What was it like your first time? Did you vomit or anything like that?

Oh, and I'm going to stay home today... I'm not going out and driving anywhere.

thats very good to be cautios and know what you are doin. but sometimes drinking too much can lead to disorders - and rarely even death. ive heard that if you drink too much you wont care what u are doin, as in the state of drunkness, and youd b surprised what crazy stuff youd do.

If all you do is drink a beer you'll be fine. Pace yourself and don't end up taking shot after shot. Try to drink a lot of water also because what causes a hangover is the alcohol swelling up in your head with no where to go. the water helps filter it out to help prevent a hangover. I would try a light beer, less calories and not as filling but the same amount of alcohol content. The permanent effects don't usually come from being an occasional drinker. They come from drinking everyday. Those people can't even start their morning without a drink because their body is so adapted to it that they can't not drink without shaking. Coming down off of alcohol (for an alcoholic who drinks alot) is one the most dangerous and scariest comedowns. You can have seizures, go into convulsions, be very delusional, violently vomit and so on. It's not pretty. You should drink because you want to not because you feel pressure to fit in.

Drinking in moderation poses no significant dangers, assuming you don't do something stupid such as driving while intoxicated. Dangers include drinking too much and passing out, throwing up, dieing (in extreme cases), and doing stupid things. There is potential for permanent damage, but that is only if you drink a ton and is still unlikely with only one instance of drinking, so if you don't like it after the first time you can just not do it again. The only way to cause permanent damage is to drink enough that your liver gets permanent damage, but you would have to drink a lot for that to happen. My first time i just had a couple brews and a few shots and nothing eventful occurred. I forget which but my second or third time I got hammered, vomited, blacked out, and then passed out in the woods behind the apartment I was in for a few hours. Just remember to take it slowly until you know your limit and once you know your limit just try and not drink more than that and don't drink and drive.

The first beer I downed was a Lowenbrau Dark. Try not to have too many too quickly, and try drinking some water in between beers or you'll probably end up puking.

you should never drink to fit in...its not a rule of life that you need to drink..and budwiser is not simple it is more stronger in taste than a lite beer..maybe try a mgd lite or a bud lite..or if you feel in a festive mood try a corona lite..
---dangers include clothes falling off, dancing like you goofy high school teacher, confessing your love to anyone that will listen and the sometimes late nite booty call that you reget the next morning..
--permanent side effects?? if you become a alcoholic after starting to drink..enlarge facial poors, redness of the face and your friends and family thinking you are a loser..
--first time for me..didnt like beer at first and i only drank to impress my friends but now i like it..a cold beer is best on a hot summer day...you only vomit if you dont have self control and drink too much..
thats good that your not driving..that would be a rookie mistake to drink and drive..
!!!ADVICE!!! Start off slow and if you dont like it try something new..USE SELF CONTROL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IF YOU DONT KNOW HOW, DONT DRINK!!!!!!! DRINK A GLASS OF MILK AND ASPRIN BEFORE YOU START DRINKING..IF YOU GET SICK AFTER DRINKING..EAT BREAD, CHIPS, CRACKERS IT WILL ABSORB THE ALCOHOL..HANGOVER CURE--IF YOU WAKE UP WITH A HANGOVER DRINK ANOTHER BEER AND GO TO YOUR LOCAL AUTHENTIC MEXICAN RESTURANT AND HAVE MENUDO..

My first beer was nasty but I downed it any ways just to fit in and also to get the buzz.
My advice DO NOT MIX any alcoholic beverages specially with hard liquors you WILL get sick! choose one drink for the night and stay with that drink only. Thats the biggest mistake new drinkers make they want to try everything all at once and they pay for it in the end.
good luck to you!

You need several things to live - water and food being a couple of them. You don't need alcohol to live. So why bother? Save the carbs and the pukes and the aftertaste and the expense and celebrate being 21 and sober.

At first it'll taste nasty. After a few times you drink, you begin to like then you'll want it more and more.
