Before taking any vitamins you need to know what you should do first. Body cleanse. Lemon juice will do the trick. Yes its sour but it works then start taking vitamin A, it is a natural antibiotic and will boost your imune system. They say if you can walk at least 1,000 steps a day this to will get you back to feeling great. you really don't need to exersize as long as you keep moving all day long.
then when you are feeling pretty super start taking other vitamins such as B complex vitamins. always eat right. yeah I know you hear that all the time but I found that if its green eat it if it comes in a can don't eat it if its a diet food don't waste your money, all you get is chemicals and that's what's wrong with our foods today all chemicals. Makes you wonder why so many people are getting sick. Think about it... Hmmmm! Vitamin A is what you need after a cleanse. Everyone thinks its vitamin c but it has its drawbacks. Vitamin c can also affect your weight. Yes we need some vitamin C but just an example I gained 5 lbs when I started taking it. Vitamin C is not the answer. Do some research and you will find Vitamin A is your best start. Vitamin C also can cause the body to become more acidic we all need to get to an alkaline state so we are able to fight off all that ails us.

Virtually ALL of the known vitamins and essential minerals are needed for optimum immune function.

If you were to rephrase your question and ask: "Which vitamins are NOT needed for the immune system"?, the answer would be none. All are needed.

vitamin C has that reputation

however i don't take any, and i haven't seen that i have more flu or colds than any of my friends who regularly take 1'000 milligrams a day

several studies have been undertaken on Vitamin C, and I think the most they found was that it had antioxydant effect and that maybe this was good for something though they weren't sure why (cancer, ageing, etc.)

Vitamin C does, you can go get the 1000 mg tablets at any drug store, that would be the best bet, usually if your sick already and start to take it, you feel better within days.

Take a multivitamin with iron, eat a sensible diet and exercise, avoid hospitals, public spas, swimming pools and drinking fountains. Keep your self and your house clean and consider a air purifier and for heaven's sake, don't smoke and drink only occasionally. You'll be healthier, happier and you'll live longer!

The best way to boost your immune system is to eat a well balanced and healthy diet full of fresh, raw, whole foods from all food groups, exercise regularly and avoid stress.
