If I'm understanding your question, you want to send a care package to military personnel that you don't know, not a loved one. Please check my source link. It's for AnySoldier. On the site, you can find men and women from all branches of the military that are asking for care packages or just penpals. Some of them are unit Commanders or 1SG asking for items that the troops in their unit need. It will also give you the address of that person to send the package to.
I don't blame you for not wanting to send cash. It's sometimes confusing as to what organizations you can or can't trust. This site, you send the mail directly to the military person. If you'd like to know of other sites to support the troops, drop me a message here and I'll give you some links.
I hope this is what you were asking for and that it helps. Thank you for all you're doing to support the troops. Don't forget, the holidays are coming. Small trees or stockings mean the world to them overseas. Also, I recommend that mail early for the holidays. Normal mail service can take from 2 weeks to 2 months to get there depending on location and service.

US Postal Service..Sent things they asked for. If you really want to do something for our troops..Go on VFW.org and donate to the Operation UpLink.. The VFW buys Phone Cards and gives them to the troops so they can call home free of charge and talk with their families and loved ones.. Believe me there has been so many care packages sent that it is overwhelming and it is still going on by alot of organizations and family members..You can donate to Operation Uplink any amount of money you want.. and the VFW sends thousands of Phone Cards out to them.. If you don't know what to send then don't send anything..because it may be to much, to little and not very useful...This just a suggestion. You can also send movie CD's those are always good and they have capability to view them...Good Luck to you and from a retired GI thank you for caring about our troops..

I was in the Navy some years back my mother used to send me home made cookies while I was at sea. The way she did it was to take warm cookies individually wrap them in cling wrap place a layer in the bottom of a empty coffe can add a little plain popcorn and repeat the process until the can is full then put on the lid and send them off they can last as long as 8 weeks and still taste very good also ask the person you are sending them too what they really miss or what they really need -----good luck----and thanks for caring it will make you and especially the person you send it too extremely happy to get a care package from home

ok first you cannot send food that will spoil ( ie steak dinner ) since it would take 5 to 10 days for it to arrive .... if sending anything else send it thru the USPS phone cards are very useful and so is fresh wipes but keep in mind these items can be had from a BX/PX too if they are near one ...also keep in mind that you will need to know the camp /base and apo so it will arrive there ....most APO look like this John J Doe camp somewhere apo ae 09333

USPS - get the "flat rate" box you can cram them full and it will only about $7-$8 to send. Anything!!!! Baby wipes, shampoo, deodorant - check out the various military sights VFW has a great one. The list is long but they do appreciate
everything. Even old paper back books that you have already read - they all share back and forth.
SEMPER FI!!! P.S. - you can pick up the "flat
rate" box at the post office - they are free.

I think you can only send it through the USPS. My husband is in Iraq and I send him a lot of dry foods. Beef jerky, corn nuts, sun flower seeds, mixed nuts, raisins, and stuff like that. I send a lot of powder mixed drinks like gaterade, ice tea, koolaid, and lemonade. I send some candy here and there too!Lots of gum!Mixed cd's, puzzle books, magazines, and dvds.

The guys like baby wipes, cookies, candy, beef jerky, powdered Gatorade, trail mix. They also like items like toothpaste, deodorant, soap etc. My friends son is serving his second tour in Iraq...they also appreciate letters and Girl Scout cookies. She ships everything with the post office.
