Just bought it and cant read user maunal as from Hong Kong + cant understand. Gettin a copy of workmates manual 2moz but wanna get snapping 2nite! Take it the light which is red at the mo will turn green when charged? How long?!

You're in luck. I just bought the Ixus 800 IS (SD 700 IS) a couple of weeks ago.
Here is a direct quote from the manual...
"The charge indicator will light red/orange while the battery is charging. It will take approx. 2 hours to fully charge the battery"
The light will turn green when charged.
Remember to always give the battery a charge on the day of use, or a day before, to ensure a full charge.

^^^^^^ Haha, 24 hours ? ^^^^^ Waaaay too long, don't listen to him. Anyways, I have a Canon Powershot so I know what I'm talkin 'bout. When you first get the Camera, you should overcharge the battery a tad bit to "set the bar" so maybe a good 4 hours should do it. And then any charges after that, 1 and a half hours should be just fine.
