I have the Bellissima professional hair straighter, it's ceramic with jade crystals and is fantastic just as good as GHD's. I have tried them all and am happiest with these. You can buy them on line for about 40-50 pounds
I also have very long hair and have no frizz anymore

Ask your hairdresser to get GHD from a trade warehouse. My ghd's cost 45 this route. There are also tons of discount offers if you hunt magazines. Remington are pretty good- I got the Remington's after GHD's and I use the Remington's more often because the plates are bigger so take less time to do your hair and you can use them on wet hair - the results are about the same.

I'm sorry but ghd are the best. I thought like you and 6 months ago I bought Toni & Guy ceramics they cost me £70 and they were craptastic man. I gave them to a skint student and went out and did what I should've done at the start and paid £108 for GHD salon ceramics and now my hair is fab and it takes 5 minutes to do in morning. So the moral of this tale is there is a reason why they are most expensive they are the best.

i recently bought a ceramic straightner (Remington) that heats up to 200 degrees in 60 seconds from Boots for £19.99 plus you get points as well. Works great almost like the ones in the salon. The trick to buying straightners doesnt have to be the brand although you can be more confident if its a good one, it should be ceramic from a good straightning and should be around 200 degrees to give quick and straight results. If it is a low degree straightner then you will dry your hair out because you have to constantly restraighten for the straight effect. Make sure you use a hair balm to protect your hair when heat styling.

Try these:-
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SHE-MK3-STRAIGHTENERS-GHD-THERMO-OIL-TRAVEL-POUCH-SET_W0QQitemZ300045604743QQihZ020QQcategoryZ36408QQcmdZViewItem
I bought these a couple of months ago from eBay and they do the same job as ghd's - don't be fooled by the name GHD, there are a whole load of straighteners similar to GHD out there which do exactly the same job - you are being ripped off and are simply paying for the name.
Hope this helps :o)

I've tried loads but GHD's are the best in my opnion but then it can depend on your hair type. I have really thick hair so other straighteners just couldn't cut it but my other mates with thinner hair swear by some of their cheaper ones.

im sorry but no - none are as good......
the only ones that came close were gama (italian imports (toni and guy) )
try ebay for your ghds..... or get your current ones fixed..... you can defo get GHD's for 85 quid... nee bother... dont buy any others... you will just end up buying GHDs aswell and wasting your money!
