Absolutely. I was MISERABLE for about a week after i quit. I smoked for 5 years all day every day. But dont worry. It passes. I didnt want to eat and i was just irritated constantly. And I couldnt sleep but I didnt have the energy to do anything either. Its been 3 years since I smoked, and I now have absolutely no desire to do it. You ll be fine. Just stick to it.

yeah of course that is normal, i used to smoke loads of high grade every day for many years as well, from a young age, i still have the occasional spliff but even if you do, within a few weeks you will start to feel better, more confident, more motivated, more sociable, less paranoid, i dont think addiction has to be physical - you could be mentally addicted like I am to cigarettes for example. I can not smoke for a week if I cant be bothered to leave the house or if I am not well and I dont even thing about it. But as soon as I go out for a drink or get bored I get desperate. You will feel soooo much better so soon that you will be wishing you stopped smoking years ago. Stop worrying - paranoia is probably a big part

Sorry to say, but you're living in denial. Your husband needs help, your son needs help and you need help most of all for putting up with this. You wont find the answers you're looking for here. You need to take the first step yourself by seeking a good family counsellor. There's even free counselling available now so there's no excuse. Tell your son he needs to get his act together, and fast. Some pathetic low life's will tell you that smoking pot is okay. It's not. It's a harmful drug that drains the life out of a human being. It makes people stupid. And people who endorse it are already stupid, so they don't know any different. It's pointless arguing with stupidity. Show your son where the front door is if he wont comply with a mother who's just looking for normality. That should scare the sh*t out of him. And mean it! Your husband also needs a bit of tough love. Some people think that counselling is all about holding hands and sharing your crap. Give me a break. I've been a counsellor since I was a teenager. Some people need compassion and others need a kick in the butt to get them jump started again. It's up to you.

congratulations on your mature decision. Marijuana, although a narcotic, actually increases your metabolism which is why many people get the munchies while or after smoking and never seem to gain a ton of weight. Also Pot gives you a High, or euphoric feeling that when absent may leave you with a down or moody feeling.
Pot is absolutely addictive. The symptoms that you are feeling are the physiological effects of your system not receiving what it has been used to getting on a regular basis for the past ten years. Your body is literally craving the THC, and letting you know by making you feel these uncomfortable effects. Also, what you experiencing is totally normal and it sounds like you are otherwise pretty healthy since these are the worst of your side effects. Try to resist the urges to resort back to your habit and instead draw strength from your decision to lead a healthier lifestyle by refraining from exposing your neurological, resperitory, and cardiovascular systems to this dangerous drug.
I had a buddy die from brain cancer when he was 24 years old. The cancer was directly related to his prolifc tendency to smoke weed...

I smoke alot myself. I am not sure where I stand on it being addicitve. I have had no problem stopping when I need to, but otherwise I smoke alot and sometimes feel the things you feel. I know my body is due for a break, but it is a great relaxer from a very long day at work. It is my vice and I don't really drink too much. Good luck.
I like alot of these answers. Cool.

Well I know that my husband recently quit smoking. He says he was not addicted but was experiencing what you are and still does from time to time. I do not believe that it was so much an addiction as the fact that pot sorta makes everything all joyful lol. So with my husband I think he just had to begin to experience life as it was agian.

Yes. I've felt the moodiness and I was not able to sleep at night. Give it time it will wear off. I don't believe that it is not physically addictive. I think anything can be mentally addictive. Maybe you try something for awhile a herb like St. John wort or the herb Schisandra which is used to increase energy and help with irrrability. you can read up on it at www.herbs2000.com if you'd like

Pot is mentaly addictive. You get used to feeling one way & when you don't get that same feeling "the high" anymore, you feel like crap.
I tried quiting 7 times before I actually did. I smoked for five years. I've been "clean" for five years now.
So good for you. Enjoy your clean life!!! Get a better paying job where they do hair folical tests! spend all your "drug money" on other things you enjoy. have fun!!!

Ive never smoked in my life but find something else to do that will take your mind off it like dancing, yoga, running, walking, going out more often with friends etc. If it is still hard for you, go to treatment center they usually keep you there for about 90 days and they help you with whatever you are struggiling with. Good Luck!!!:)
