It's not a matter of saying it. It's a matter of what is in your heart. God knows the difference between mere words and true belief.

Can you watch the film The Passion of The Christ and know that he endured all of that just for you - as if you were the only person on this planet?

Then you've accepted Christ.

You are a child of our Heavenly Father whether or not you accept Christ as your Savior. You were born into this world, therefore = you are a child of God. No matter what.
There are probably lots of versions of "accepting Christ", most Christians believe once you accept Christ, you are "saved". I am LDS and we believe that although we must love and accept Jesus Christ, that alone does not warrant salvation. We will be judged by our works, our deeds, our hearts, our lives, our covenants and commitments made with God, all of it.

You must realize what and why you are accepting Him.

1. Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God"

2. Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord"

3. Romans 5:8 "But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us"

4. Romans 10:9 "If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved"

5. Romans 10:13 "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved"

Call upon the name of the Lord as you pray this prayer;

Dear God, I know I have sinned by breaking Your laws, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus died for my sins. I want to be born again and receive new life in Him. I will follow Jesus as my Lord and obey Him in all that I do. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen

Now thank Him for what He has done in your life and tell others.

Almost. Actually, it's the gift of salvation that you're accepting. Say all of this:

Heavenly Father,
I accept the gift of Salvation through the sacrifice of your son, Jesus. I pray that you will forgive me of my sins. I pray this in Jesus' name. Amen.

...and, you have to be sincere while saying this. You need to believe that God is God, and that Jesus is the Messiah and savior.

There's more -- after you've accepted Salvation, it's your duty as a Christian to bring the word of salvation through the sacrifice of Jesus to others who may not have heard it.

Enjoy your newfound Christianity.

God knows your heart- He knows if you have a repentent heart or not. Do you believe what Jesus did for you on the cross? That he died and rose again? Do you understand you are a sinner and need His forgiveness? Do you trust Him and love him because of what He did? Do you want to repent of your sin? When one truly believes in the Lord, is when they accept Christ Jesus. God knows who are "his sheep" God knows who truly love Him and want to be set free from sin. And God is the one who softens your heart and convicts you of sin- showing you that you do need Jesus. Do you believe in what Jesus did for you? Honestly? Do you Love Him? Do you understand what he did? Please e mail me if you truly are asking...and want to know.
