I think this really depends on your school's policy in determining GPA--it is different at every school. Some classes are weighted, and some are not, depending on a lot of stuff. Why not talk to an advisor at your school?

It depends if your school has "weighted" grades. If not, it wouldn't matter. If your school does, you need to find out how they "weight" the grades. In my high school (many years ago) it was possible to have over a 4.0 if you took honors classes, which I did. I think an A was = 5 points, B=4, C=3, D=2 in the honors classes. It was A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1 in non honors classes. We didn't have level 1, 2, or 3. It was just honors or non honors.

Yes! my classes were weighed based on the level of the course, for example, I took Honors Govt., and it affected my g.p.a , If I did good (which I did) it was better because my g.p.a actually went higher (I got an A) and also because I took other Honor classses (English, Spanish Lit.) =) good luck! =) Ask your school's administrators how much "weight" each class has (lower level classes tend to have low weights and higher level classes have higher weights)
