My boyfriend is going to give me a promise ring for christmas but he wants to know what the difference is between a promise ring and an engagement ring. I want to know that also so if any of you know please tell me so we can decide which one is better for our situation. That would be great and I would really appreciate it!!!!!!

I believe that a promise ring is more for younger people to give as a lot of promises get broken. An engagement ring is presented when you ask a woman if she will accept your hand in marriage.

A promise ring is kinda like one step under the engagement ring......means that you are not quite to the engagement stage, but he still "promises" that you will be one day

I know an engagment ring is a symbol of your love, you give it to the one you love before you get married. An promise ring dosn't have to be a symbol of your love, it can be just a promise to your love one, and it dosn't matter what the promise is.

an engagment ring is something that means marraige.. and you are engaged. apromis ring is something that means ur " Taken" But it alsome means to be faifthful to that person and love them. A promis ring is the first step and the engagment is the 2nd step tword marriage.
