As a bridal consulant, i would suggest you visit a Macy's Bridal Salon (if you are on the East Coast) or a Demetrios Bride (on the West Coast). They carry only the largest companies for bridesmaid dresses. For example, Bill Levkoff, After Six (Dessy, Vivian Diamond), Waters and Waters (*a little pricier), Alfred Angelo, Jordan, Bari Jay, B2 (Belsoie), * Laundry by Shelli Segal Bridesmaids. I think that's it... I would recommend Jordan. They have a nice selection, really reasonable prices, nice colors.
Visit www.theknot.com and pick out the dresses you are interested in. Try to visit them at a bridal salon, and then pick the ones you like in person. It would help if you have one bridesmaid with you to be the model. Then, email the style number and other information to the rest of the girls and have them find the closest location to them to try the dress on and get measured, alterations, etc. Worst case senario, they cannot find the dress you want them to have in their area, pick a salon that carries the dress closest to you, have the girls measure their bust, waist, hips (by a professional seamstress), and fax measurements to the salon. They will order the dresses and you can arrange shipping. All they have to do is have alterations done in their area. Hope this helps, good luck!

Davids Bridal Alfred Angelo or any of the major designer have retailers all across the country. You first have to select a bridesmaid dress, get to maids to look at it and see if they like. Then send them out to go get it.
Below are a few of the ones that I like the most. Good luck and congratulations.

--STAY AWAY FROM DAVID'S BRIDAL!!!--
Options:
1) If you aren't too picky, give each bridesmaid a sample of your colors and tell them to go pick the best dress IN THAT COLOR for themselves.
2) Go to a local bridal store and pick out the dress style. MOST bridal stores will be able to have your bridesmaids call in with their sizes and order it from there. We did this, and we had bridesmaids in 4 different states and 2 different countries!
As I mentioned before, do NOT go to David's Bridal. If you do order from a store, you're going to want everything from the same dye lot. Besides, David's Bridal is impolite and a huge corporation. All of the designs are bland and boring, and the cost doesn't make it worth it.

I would send all the bridesmaid sample colors and get them to find there own dresses. I think they don't necessarily have to be "bridesmaid" dresses. They could actually be a dress they liked to wear outside of a wedding as long as the colors go with the wedding. Maybe just pick one color for them to follow.

LOL!! Between my 6 bridesmaids, all different states too! David's bridal worked for us!! I could look where I lived, register... then call my girls and tell them to go to their local David's bridal. They could look up my registry and the people who work there would go get the dress or dresses off the rack for them to try on. The girls could order (or use layaway) in their own hometowns, get the dress altered in their own hometown and just bring their dress when they fly here for my wedding. Worked great for me!!

You can order on-line, in person of over the phone. The dresses can be mailed directly to the bridesmaid for altering in her town.
Choose the dress you like then give the bridesmaids the designer and design number. Then tell them to go to there local bridal shop to be measured for it. They all send you their measurements, and then you place the order.

How about: pick out a dress yourself and send them a letter in the mail describing the dress, asking for their measurements, and give them a time line on payments. You order the dresses for them after they have their measurements taken where ever they are and send the dresses to them when they come in. The brides maids can get alterations where ever they are in time for the wedding. Good Luck and congratulations!

We had the same problem. My wife ended up getting them at a department store. If you work it correctly your bridesmaids should be able to try on the same style dresses at each of the seperate department stores.
