I am very sorry to hear that. It is sad that even in the times that we live in there is still such intolerence by some people. To me it doesn't matter what color or race you are as long as you love eachother and are good to eachother. I am in an interracial relationship (im white and my boyfriend is black) and fortionately both of our families accept our relationship with big smiles and open arms. We do get flack from strangers sometimes but that is about it.
I hope things get better for you sweetie! Keep your chin up. If you two are meant to be together then you will be. If not, you will find someone that will love you forever I promise! :)

Sadly, they don't work. I had a similar situatin....I am middle eastern (light skinned) and my girl friend was afro-am. My family had a problem, but, they said it was my life....But her family....Total racists to the bone. The lived in a similar upscale neighborhood, we went to the same schools.... her dad was real estate broker, this was not a inner city ghetto family..... but the minute they saw me.....the ghetto in them came out, big time....Her dad blamed me for everything negative that ever happened to him in the south.... Her brothers tried to kick my *ss, but when I fought back broke his jaw....her little brother pulled a gun and shot up my car...when the police came, they denied everything..... I would say only 5 in a 100 interracial relationships work. My experience has been that blacks are more racist than whites.... Sorry.

Its so sad that we still are dealing with racism after coming so far. There was nothing wrong with your relationship and there never will be. The older generation is still living in a time when that was looked down on and they won't change their ways to adapt to modern times. I'm sooo sorry you had to experience this because its heart-breaking in so many ways. My mom has expressed to me that she wouldn't really like me dating a black guy, but she wouldn't disown me over it. Follow your heart and never let anyone tell you who to love. <3

I am in an interracial lesbian relationship. My lover is from El Salvador and I am white. We haven't really had any problems. My family had only met my lover once but they really liked her. I have only met my lovers sister and she seemed to like me. I think the problem with your relationship is the fact that you are black. In El Salvador they have tough laws against black people.

my ex is black/i am white...you will always have people like this, but if you two are truly meant to be together it will happen...this mother sounds like a selfish controlling b...h! when people who are close to you realize that you are happy, they will eventually get over it...my oldest daughter didn't realize how much in love i was and thought that he was just using me...she has actually lightened up to him because her eyes were opened to how happy he makes me...hope you get something from this...

i am white i was w/ a black guy and we lived together....had a baby on the way and my parents wouldn't except it either, my mom tried to run him over in her car. they kept on pushing and causing trouble ill we split and he left town. his parents excepted me, but i stay'd here and had my daughter now he has moved on and she is the one hurting. of course as odd as it seems everyone excepts my lil girl.
