A sweet sherry or as stated a port, a tawny one, if your really fancy free, Chateau Yeqem a french sauterne, it is a little pricey, can run $40 - 50 a bottle, so it would have to be really go cheesecake.

Even a sparkling rose or pink champange, Henkell Trocken has a nice sweet version, a German Spatlese or Auslese Uce wine or we here in Canada make some award winning Ice wine and are in a good price range.

If you are talking "real" NewYork Style cheesecake(without the nasty toppings people ruin a good cheesecake with!)

then Port!

If you are planning on drenching it with some too sweet topping...then go with a Reiseling or Ice wine.

so much depends on the type of cheesecake or topping

a pinot noir would pair well with any berry topping
a chard with a stone fruit topping
merlot or cab with chocolate

you may want to consider a liqueur as well...chamborde, grand marnier, frangelico, and even baileys irish cream is very popular in our restaurant
