HA...mine is boring. I knew when he asked me to pick out the ring. lol Then later that day, after sizing, he gave it to me. I was in my pj's reading a book, and he came home with grocery store flowers and Korbel.....a nice card too....and proposed on his knee to me.

I knew he was going to propose since we had talked about it. I just didn't know when or where. In fact, he didn't even know when or where. It just sort of happened.

We randomly went out to the lake one fall evening. We skipped stones for a while. (Well he skipped stones...I sort of plunked them into the water) Then we watched the sunset together. We sat on the shore for a bit admiring the stars. Then he turned my face towards his and gave me a passionate kiss. As he pulled away he looked into my eyes and whispered his proposal to me. I said yes and we kissed again. He had had no ring or plan to propose at that moment. He said it just felt perfect. He couldn't let that second pass without asking me to marry him. I don't think I could have asked for a better proposal. It was wonderful to find that my man had a wonderfully romantic and spontaneous side to him. We shopped for a ring a few weeks after. We had only been together for about three months and were engaged for about a year before officially tying the knot. Some may call it unplanned and unromantic, but to me it was perfect.

I've been married for 1 year and 5 months. WE had a beautiful wedding on the bay in Navarre FL. RIght over the water. At sunset.
A few weeks before he proposed he was looking at rings with me and seeing my size. So, for the next couple weeks I was checking the bank accounts, seeing if any money was gone and looking everywhere for the ring. I was nosy. The day of my birthday he took me and got my nails done but kept saying that we didn't have the money for the ring, so it would have to wait. I tried to refuse to get my nails done, because we could use that money for the ring, he said he would leave me there if I didn't get them done. SO, Crying the whole time I got my nails done. Then we wen't driving around. And we wen't to the first place we ever kissed. And he left me in the middle of the woods just standing there. I was supose to be imaging our new home being built there. He was actually getting the ring out of the car. He said he was going to use the can. We'll I went to find him and he told me how much I mean to him and how lucky he was to find me. And how much he wants to spend the rest of his life with me. Then he made me turn around and close my eyes and turn back around and when I opened them, There he stood crying with the ring box open and he asked, will you be my bride, my love, my best friend forever. I said yes. and balled like a baby.
We are still in love.

I don't have a great story. He didn't even propose! After being together for over 3 years, I looked at him and told him we were getting married! He didn't object so here we are planning a Jan. 2008 wedding. I know it sounds kinda like he doesn't care, but he is just a really bad procrastinator! I have learned if I want something I have to do it myself! It works for us.

Well my fiance, and I had had our relationship ups and downs for 2 years. I had had an infidelity issue, he found out and that was the end of us. He was also in the Marine Corp, so he was back and forth from overseas, his base, and home. After our break up he had asked me to go off and find what it is that I want, and if that leads me back to him then so be it. He waited 2 years for me, as I did him. He recently came home from overseas earlier this year, and was finished his term in July. So June 10th we were hanging together and he was acting strange. He told me that he was going to go to the mall and that I would meet him there later, but not to follow him. I had had a feeling then what he was planning to do. I had met him, we went to the Inner Harbor, he was nervous, it was so adorable. We had finally began to leave and right when we got in front of the Baltimore Trade Center he got down on one knee, and proposed in front of everyone!!! It was beautiful. I had partially anticipated it, but was still swept off my feet with it.

We got into a HUGE fight about whether he was ever going to propose to me or not. I felt the relationship was hitting a dead end and asked him to move out if it wasn't going to. In the midst of all this fighting he threw a piece of paper at me and walked out the door. It was a reciept for a ring.
We didn't speak for three days. I tried calling him but he went AWOL.

Then after three days he calls and tells me to meet him at our spot (place out in the country near a lake). I figured we'd talked and deal with the terms of our break up. (He often liked to take some time and walk off his anger and then discuss things with me in a natural setting)
We talked for a bit and he asked if I wanted to see the ring. I said no, it was too painful. I didn't want to see a ring I'd never get to wear.. Instead, he got down on one knee and proposed.

We had talked about engagement and then he sent me to the jewelry store to be sized. I didn't know that he was going to do it before Christmas as we were going to see my family after Christmas but they were in on the whole thing!

He woke me up and we went to the day spa and have a full treatment and then we went shopping and then he took me to the nicest restaurant in town and then we headed down to the pier to take some shots of the city at night for our condo (we love the downtown sights/views) and when the camera wouldn't work, I asked him to fix it and he was down on one knee with my ring in hand.

We headed back to our condo for a glass of champagne to toast and he had a dozen roses for me and when I opened the door to our condo, there were 200 of our closest family and friends for a surprise engagement party. I will never forget it. Next to the wedding and now the birth of our daughter, it was the best night of my life!

This is a story of non-engagement.
He was broke. I wasn't. He was unemployed. I wasn't.
How did I know he was going to propose?
Cause he had no intention of getting a job.
End of story

I woke up one morning and said "I think we should get married". He said "ok". I said "it's not like choosing a movie to watch, I'm being serious". And then he said "ok". So that was it. We went together to a jeweler and when the ring came in I kind of ruined it. I took it and laid in bed with a nighty on. he wanted to surprise me when it came in but I wouldn't let him. I knew he wouldn't come up with anything creative anyway. But I knew and he knew that the ring didn't matter, that it only mattered that we were going to be together.
