I agree with you, I think that the Muslim community is getting a real beating at the moment when the vast majority are peaceful people who just want to get on with their lives the same as anyone else.

There are many sides to this. I think that if you follow your religion, then we should respect that. We should respect each other.
The only issue I have, is that if a britsh woman was to go to asia, then she may cover up in respect of the local culture. Why can't that apply here?
I don't believe we can tar everybody with the same brush.
I think that we all have to meet somewhere in the middle, compromise on a sort of culture that suits everyone.
Although I can't help but think that if people live here, then why not conform to the cultures here? I'd hate to think that a bunch of brits went to another country, and then tried to force their culture and beliefs on the unsuspecting locals.
I respect that people have religion, but I sometimes think that religions are being used in the wrong way, for the wrong reasons.
People should believe because they want to, not because they want to create controversy or make a statement. Believe because you want to believe.
I am not muslim, I am not christian, I wouldn't say I was a complete non-believer either. I'm undecided. I see good and bad, and that's enough for me.
People should stop being so defensive. I reckon that a small group of people will always make the majority look bad, and it's easy to remember negative stuff.
Hopefully, we will sort it out soon enough.
We just need a compromise, that's all.

Maybe if you don't support the acts of militant Muslims, you should say so a bit more openly. Everyone at some point is forced to take a side. The snowball was started on its downhill roll by Muslims - it's their problem as well as ours to stop it. But it seems all you are doing is trying to stay out of its way and hope for the best. Hope alone won't cut it.

I've got nothing against girls wearing hijabs, and I think they have every right to wear them. I'm not even a Muslim, but if their right was threatened to wear them, I would defend their right. I'd even wear one myself if it helped to defend their right, even though I'm not a Muslim.

The problem is not with hijab, but with excess of it.

Well I'm one of the more devout ones. You sound like a wanna-be... pork? Eeeww.... hey whatever makes you happy since you care of nothing else.
Yup we are being bashed and everything...oh well... we're starting to get used to it actually and it makes us stronger as individuals and as muslims.
HIJAB is awesome and I love it! It's my identity, my faith, my love. :)
