Yes Jesus could read and write. He studied the scriptures. There are many verses in the Bible that tell us about what Jesus knew about the Holy Scriptures.
Mat 21:42 Jesus said to them, "Have you never read in the Scriptures: The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone; the Lord had done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes."
Mat 22:29 Jesus replied, "You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God."
John 8:6 They were using this question as a trap in order to have a basis for accusing him. But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger.

The Bible talks about Jesus reading out loud from the prophets at the synagogue, and it describes him writing in the sand, so obviously he was literate. Since he debated with the scribes at the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem when he was only twelve, and he confounded the scholars, then he must have been highly educated at an early age.

No one really knows, but I would say he wasn't educated by man, but by God. Although much of the education was done at the temple and we do know he attended the temple often, even as a child and that he was able to rebuke those of much learning. However, all the scriptures say of Him after 12 years old is that "the child grew, and waxed strong in the spirit". Also, the scriptures state that it is by the spirit that all things are learned. Therefore, if he was strong in the spirit, he was also strong in intellect.

He did read and write. The Bible speaks of Him reading scripture in the temple. There is nothing mentioned of a "formal" education, though the Bible does leave out any accounts of His life from age 13 - 30.

Blessed Be

Jesus was referred to many different times as a Nazarene or a Nazarite. The brain dead people who rewrote the bible said that meant that he was from Nazareth. Well, Nazareth as a city did not exist in his time and a Nazarene was a scholar who was also a vegetarian and did not cut their hair or beard. The Nazarenes and the Essenes, of which he may have been a member also, were very well educated. And if you actually read the bible rather than regurgitate it you Will discover that his family were quite wealthy so he was well educated.

Yes JESUS was educated. HE read the scriptures in the temple in his teen years and he also wrote in the dirt as an adult. The BIBLE does not say if he went to "school" as we know it....but HE is the creator of all why would he not be literate.

I think he could read and write. As a Jewish boy, I believe he had to spend some time in the temples and I'm sure he would have found a way to study in them when he wasn't at home learning carpentry from his step-father.

Jesus was 12 yo at this time. Mary, Joseph, and Jesus had gone to Jerusalem for Passover and Jesus 'disappeared' on them.

Luke 2:45-47
"When they couldn’t find him, they went back to Jerusalem to search for him there. 46 Three days later they finally discovered him in the Temple, sitting among the religious teachers, listening to them and asking questions. 47 All who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers."

Does that answer your question?

No, he was not educated in the common schools of the day.

He could read, there is a passage in the Gospels about him reading the Torah in temple.

I don't know if he could write, but I would assume that he could, since he was raised a carpenter's son and they probably needed to know how to write to make out work orders or do bills.
