Dogs do drink a lot of water - especially if they are fed on dry food and are given salty chewy things like pigs ears etc.
They should have access to fresh water all day.
However excess drinking of water can be an indication of a kidney problem and if you notice that your dog's urine is still strong yellow or it pants a lot or you really do think he is drinking more than he usually does, he should be checked over by a vet.

Yes, normal because dry dog food is that - DRY, it actually pulls moisture from the digestive tract to break it down. You want your dog to drink the water it needs to help break it down.

You can soak kibble in water for 5-30 mins before feeding to help breakdown (see how much water the kibble absorbs!) but the teeth will not get exercised as much.

First, there is no such thing as a water infection. Second, Yes, it is very normal unless he is drinking a significant amout more than it was. That is really your call as you are the one that knows what your dog's driking and eating habits usually are.

If he is drinking more than is usual for him...then take him to the vets just to be sure. tell the vet that you are concerned in case it is not normal for him to be trinking that much. He may have an illness...my dog drank and drank when he got ill with diabetes. I'm not saying this is what your dog has...but you must tell the vet just in case there is something wrong

My little dog weighs only 4lb but he drinks a lot..... and mostly in the evenings for some reason. I'm sure its probably normal. If your dog is draining his water bowl dry and then you refill it and he drinks it all again then probably something is wrong. You just need to observe your dog and see if what he drinks is normal for him.

how old is the dog? It could be a sign of a kidney infection, or if it is an old dog who is being fed on high protein things, it could be that you have damaged his kidneys. Either way, this is not the place to be asking things like this. You need to see a vet.

If he is peeing a lot as well as drinking a lot, this could be a sign of diabetes in the same way that humans suffer. If you are concerned about it, any good vet would prefer you check it out with them to alay your fears than leave it unchecked.

Dogs are a lot like people, they're all different. Some just drink more than others because they're more active, or he/she needs more water. It's okay.
