Danny G - she is 25 and very nieve...he is much older and very influential on her - we have our issues already with that. Believe me I am not concerned with him nor his family, I am most concerened with MY family! It wories me to no end that he might put them in jeopardy.

James B - agreed. We have been trying to relay that to her for quite awhile now. He is a B.S. champion.

He's feeding her a line of crap! If he is doing anything he might be going into private security in Iraq and they do get paid very well. Six figure salaries for doing it. Don't worry he's a moron!

Well, there are private military companies (mercenaries) all over the world. The French Foreign Legion is classified as a private military/mercenaries, and has operated for decades. The US Blackwater and other companies, claim to be security personnel and not mercenaries, are getting the lime light now, and maybe they should. There is a great danger with not restricting, or closely watching the actions of private companies and war zones. If the US government contracts these individuals, they then fall under military law. The problem is private companies hire them, and therefore it gets murky. The government of the country they are in has the authority to limit their authority, and actions allowed legally.

There are a dozen or so private companies, doing mostly security work in strange places. Some of it is bodyguard work for politicians who can't trust their own people, some is guarding oil facilities or mines. Real mercenary work (of the "wild geese" /"dogs of war" type) does not really come into it, just loads of boring and sometimes dangerous security work.
The family will be Ok, so long as they don't follow him to his job. Also, insurance is expensive.
IMO the army is much safer- you can usually count on backup or fire support, and a medevac if things go bad. In security work a lot depends on the company, but usually none of the above applies.

He could be going to work for Halaburton or some of the other DOD contractors with Security branches. For the most part he will be a Security Officer for a private firm in a foreign land. Never heard of there being too much of an issue with this type of work as far as the family is concerned. The company he works for will fill him in on issues as they see it.

wow! yes, it's basicly an army for hire, the money is good, but it is dangerous, and it could be dangerous for the family, it just depends on who his boss wants him to kill. lets say he kills some nobodys, no problem. but if he kills the son or nephew or what ever of a lets say, drug lord and he finds out who did it, then yeah, his family will be in danger.

Contact Cheney, he may give you a phone number to get your answer to your question. How young is your baby sister that she doesn't ask or look into her boyfriend's situation, and why are you more interested in her boyfriends well being that she?

As long as the person is experienced it is fairly safe. The major factor is experience and training.
