If I'm playing music, I can still hear it, yet I cannot do anything. The screen goes completely black and I have to manually restart the system to get back on Windows. Sometimes it will happen every hour or so...other times it will happen ever minute. Why would this happen? I've run AVG and there are no viruses on the system (anymore).

you mayhave a hardware iwwue with the video inverter. If it's a dell run the 32 bit diagnostics. The first part will tell you if you have an inverter issue. If you do then contact the manufactruer if your under warentee.

Did the scanner find a virus when it ran if so even if you remove the virus the damage is still there. If you remember the name of the virus go to symantec.com and search the virus database to see if there are files to help fix the problem in case of infection. There will also be a list of files that can help you make sure AVG got all of the virus. If you don't remember the virus name go to the Help center for your computer and restore to an earlier time. If this doesn't work, the problem could be spyware. Download a spyware removal tool to help correct this problem. If this doesn't work, back up all critical data, personal files, music, pics, etc. and perform a Destructive System Restore. Restart your laptop and press F10 when screen goes black. Follow the prompts, and click advanced options. Allow it to run. Good luck and I hope this helps. God bless.

precisely the comparable befell to me. i will polish a torch on the exhibit screen and spot the laptop however the exhibit screen has lost all mild. I took it to a pc restoration individual who put in a sparkling inverter board and suggested he had to do something to the motherboard to boot. besides that didnt artwork so he's suggesting a sparkling exhibit screen. this is February 2014 so perhaps it isnt nicely worth occurring that direction because of the fact the cost for a sparkling exhibit screen is £one hundred.00. The inverter value me £50.00. shame because of the fact its a outstanding little laptop. If i offered a 2nd hand laptop from Ebay i assume i ought to purpose and change them. could be a greater low value determination

when you close a laptop there is a push switch that lets it know you've closed the top down. some times this switch will stick so if you are lucky you can see where this switch makes contact and can clean it with some switch cleaner or similar otherwise you may have to take it apart. or--- it has a dodgy connection in which case it's a bit more expensive to sort.!!
