My parents suggest getting waxed (i do several sports) but that seems too painful if it's anything like plucking. I was thinking I could trim really short, take a shower, and do a thoroal job with a razor and a mirror. But I don't want to do that if it'll be red and itchy.

(Mom thinks waxing is like the only way to do it right. Did says he doesn't know either way about waxing or shaving.)

any insight?

yes, stick with waxing because it makes the hair grow back softer and thinner, and yeah, it may hurt, but you get used to it. its like when you first plucked your eyebrows it hurt, and now you cant feel the pain anymore. Just dont try an eppilater it kills!

I would definantly go with waxing. I have very sensitive skin and EVERY time I shave, I gat razor burn. I even went out and bought an electric shaver thinking that would help. (it didn't) And I have yet to find a cream that helps prevent it either. Waxing is painful, but I think less so than plucking. It took a couple of times waxing and some "shave less" lotion, but I don't have to go very often at all to get waxed. Good luck

I honestly think that laser removal is the best bet. With waxing be sure that you find a place that doesn't use the same tub of wax for everyone of their clients as it is a good way to spread STDs without even having sex. Shaving is never a good idea. Too itchy

I'm going to have to agree with your mother. Shaving can be irritating and leave red bumps and lets not mention the Itching if you let it grow back!
Waxing is usually the quickest and easiest way. For the moments of discomfort you get two weeks of being hair free. But even with waxing you can develop red bumps.
If I had my way I'd lazer it off, but that is not as cost effective.
Good Luck!

I think you should wax the less sensitive bits first, then keep everything else trimmed really close. It's still very clean, but not as painful. Then you can experiment taking more hair off as you get used to waxing.
I personally hate shaving, I get red bumps, it itches and doesn't last very long.

Wax 'is' the best way to go - because shaving itches like hell when it groes back and you're more prone to ingrown's as well.. Just don't do a brazilian Wax! do the air strip - this way you're 'clean' but it doesn't hurt as much as a brazilian....

shaving is a lot of upkeep and you do run the risk of getting in grown hairs, they suck. waxing does hurt the first few times. but after a while your hair grows back thinner. i heard that lasering it off work THE best. i'm not sure how much $$ it is or where you can get it done though,

I agree with your mom. It hurts, but it lasts longer and you get used to it, just depends on what your willing to spend.

lazer remover will be forever a bit pricy but never again you have to shave
