My bf and i have been dating for six months, and we have had a sexual relationship. This weekend we had sex, and two hours after our last encounter, he tells me he wants to be celibate..I'm Christian, but i don't believe long term loving relationships should have to wait for a legal document that allows them to share intimacy...he wants to get right with God...but how all of this happened is making it hard for me to believe him...

You have to figure out what is important to you. If sex is important and he chooses not to then maybe this relationship is not the right one for you. You can't push him into a sexual relationship if he does not want one, but it does seem kinda funny that this sprung up out of the blue. Be careful that he is not cheating on you and using this as an excuse.
Regardless of what others might say, there is nothing wrong with having a sexual relationship with someone that you care about. Just make sure that the relationship is healthy and that you are protecting yourself.

The Bible talks about fornication being a sin and the description of fornication is sex outside of marriage. If this is what your boyfriend believes, please support him in this since he'll carry the guilt into marriage if he keeps sleeping with you.
alot of christians feel guilty having sex outside marriage and every time they sleep with someone the guilt is always there. sometimes it's too much pressure! let him explore his desire to be right with God. It may be that he want s to wait until marriage, it may not. Just give him some space.

Why don't you just believe him? There are Christian guys who want to truly follow Jesus by believing and living what the Bible says. Don't tell me the Bible doesn't say that having sex before marriage is wrong. Read Acts 15:20 if you don't believe me. Fornication is sex outside of marriage.

Girl I'm sorry but you just gon have to deal with it. FIrst that is not a long term relationship. Six months is nothing. I've had bread in the refrigerater longer than that. Do you really want to get between him and God?

There is something going on here.
It seems odd that he would decide to be intimate one more time, then try to square it with God, or that he didn;t discuss it with you beforehand in makign this decision, even to say that he feels funny about having the sex outside of the marriage.
the problem is you may never get a real answer from him.

You have to realize that this comes from a religious cynic, but the guy is demented. God did not make some arbitrary standard for people to have sex. He made it fun so that people could enjoy it. Having children is a serious responsibility, but sex is supposed to be fun. Religion made it a sin just so they could control you. Start looking some where else. The guy is demented.

In regards to the legal document aspect of your argument, I side with you. But what makes you think he's not telling you the truth? Do you think he's looking for a reason to break it off with you? Feel free to email me.

Maybe he feels guilty for not being married. Don't knock him for wanting to get right with God. If you are truely a christian then you would understand his view.
