I have a recipe to barbecue a turkey. My question is do I put the turkey on a pan or put a drip pan at the bottom? Do I let the juices drip into the coals?? I want to cook one of my turkeys this way for Thankgiving but this is my first time, If you know Please Help!!

Warning Warning! If you have not cooked a Turkey on the BBQ before T'Day is NOT the date to start. First off you will be spending more time "Tending" the fire, you did say charcoal, and less on the "other" fixings. Second, charcoal is a dry heat, Turkey is a big bird which means long time in dry heat = dry bird. I've smoked Turkey on my BBQ but it's with a rotisserie, the juices stay with the bird and minimal tending. I would suggest that you do it the old fashion way in the oven and try a smaller bird another time just for yourselves without all the other things going on, like timing, getting everything to be done at the same time, etc.

no, do not let it drip into the coals, it will give a bad taste to your meat. put a drip pan, so you can make gravy with the drippings.
