My friend... digiboxes can cost under £30 and it is a one off payment. If you seriously cannot afford this I would suggest saving now. Then when we change over to digital you will be able to afford it and you can still use your existing TV. It will be a while yet before terrestrial TV will be turned off so "Don't Panic Mr Mannering, don't panic" ;o)

the TV licence is safe for at least another four years after that it will get reviewed by the government. without a digital box or a TV capable of receiving digital you will not get any TV.

You can buy a digital box for around 30-40 pound, Picture quality is brilliant, well worth it.
