I have heard this, but only a few ounces at most.
Can that claim be substantiated?
Or, in fact, does the soul/spirit not have any weight since it does not have mass?

The body exist of 2/3 of water(=blood and water substances).
After dead, first thing what happens after the last breath is that all water flues out.

If it's in fact true, I would imagine that it could be attributed to the voiding of the bladder/bowels (which often happens at death), perhaps.
