Do you like it?

Yes I like it. The leather holds up well, is easy to clean and out lasts most cloth furniture. The average lifespan of a cloth covered couch is 5 years. A leather set will last much longer. The wear it does get only adds to it's appeal and comfort. Some claim it's a cold piece of furniture. I don't find that to be true, although I always have a nice throw on mine. It's a good investment, just make sure you check to see how it's made. Don't buy chairs with seams across the arms or anywhere that would have pressure. Look for one full piece of leather for the back and seats. Press against the back and arms of the piece to see that it is solid and does not move with little pressure.

It depends on the leather. If you buy leather buy top grain, analine dyed leather (dyed all the way through the hide). The dye technique keeps the leather soft and supple instead of the flaking and peeling you get with surface dying. The girl in the first response must not have bought nice leather furniture. You can expect to pay $2,000-$3,000 for a nice leather sofa. Also, check for warranties on the frame, etc. A well-made sofa will have warranties on the frame, leather, etc. If it's under $1200 regular price it's junk. You may be able to find a great deal but just feel the leather. A good leather sofa should feel like a broken in leather jacket. It is very good for people with children and pets. Just be sure you keep your pet's nails trimmed to avoid gouging. Good luck!

YES YES YES. My wife and I bought a 2 piece leather sofa and loveseat. since then our daugher has been born. She has done everything on the sofa. She has bit on the arms and pulled as she did this. She has spit on it everything. There are sofa cleaning wipes I buy at Walmart for like 3 something I run those over the entire sofa and it looks like new. The sofa look just as good as I bought it. The only thing is that the cushions are a little pressed down because we sit in it every day. There are no tears rips or maks in the leather. That is because it is leather. It is tough. The only thing is that it is not very comfortable as cloth.

As far as the first post it probably wasn't real leather possibly pleather. The only thing I would buy other then leather is probably denem because you know jeans don't wear out fast and it's cloth....

In the long run, NO. Leather cracks, cant be repaired as easily, stains very easily. I at one time thought of buying a leather or suede sofa. Everyone said, oh yeah those are nice, etc... BUT.... a total pain in the a-- to have to maintain. For one, at the time I had young kids, and if they wrene with me, I had parties at my house... I hate stains on my stuff. In the end I decided on Scothguard treated microfiber as it helped repell stains, and for the last 2 years hasn't worn down bad at all. Plus, if anything is spilled on it, it can easily be cleaned up. Also, they cost less. Leather you are really paying for the long and laborious process of making the leather, which is itself expensive. The only leather thing I have is my oversized leather seat I have in my bedroom, which my wife loves, since only my a-- is big enough to fit in it.... lol....

I once had a leather sofa. It was expensive and in a short period of time the top grain of the leather began to peel off. No one could give me a reasonable explenation of why it happened, so I eventually had to get rid of the sofa.

After spending a lot of money on ours my wife didn't like it, she complained if "was cold" all the time. She was always putting a blanket on the cushions and over the back.
