LOL! Ever consider temporary "dreadlocks?"

If you've got long hair that's all one length, it's really easy to do. You might use a "dread wax" but just for a fun change, you really don't need it.

You will need a bunch of tiny rubber bands. If you've got a "Clair's" near you - they're about $2 for a pack. Depending on how thick your hair is, and how thick you want your dreads, you'll need between 20 and 50.

It will help if you've got a friend. I like the two strand twist method. The two strand twist is easiest with wax. I like Knotty Boy. Start at the back of your head. Part the base to make the first row. Pin the rest up on top of your head.

Divide the row. Use bobby pins to keep track. Take the first section. Split it in two. Twist the strands between your fingers in one direction. Wrap those sections around one another in the OPPOSITE direction. Get as close to the bottom as you can.

Rubber band the ends.

Continue on... It helps to stagger the rows so you don't get a part straight from the front to the back.

Wash it like you would "regular" hair. Just remember it will take longer to dry.

And don't freak out when you comb them out a month later and fistfulls of hair comes out. You lose about 60 hairs a day so it's totally normal.

I've always found that if I ask my stylest she's always got a great idea that will fix my face shape and my skin tone. So that's what I would suggest. But there are also tons of hair styling books that you can buy that shows hundreds of styles and colors. Maybe you could pick a few and see what your stylest thinks would work best for you. Good luck!
