I have no religion...I chose that after years of being forced into catholicism and then venturing through differnet religions on my own. Could never find one that didn't sound like a complete fabrication or just plain silly. Besides I can't stand any kind of mass conforming, so even atheism is a wash

Christian:

Well, because there are so many benefits to being a Christian. And not just that Jesus died for me so that I can live with Him in Heaven forever, but so many other things.
Like peace, in the midst of turmoil, and having comfort and joy even when someone close to you dies. I like that I can talk to God about whatever my situation is and He listens and reminds me that "All things will work together for the good, to them who love God." (Romans 8:28) And when I talk to Him and I wait patiently, He gives me an answer and lets me know that everything is going to be ok. It's not just some crazy magic spell or anything like that, IT'S REAL. Jesus is real. Just as real as the air I breathe, or the car I drive in. Yeah you can't see Him, but if you give Him a chance, and I mean, a real chance, He seriously will change your life. I love being a Christian.

I am of The True Christian Faith. The Faith has nothing to do with " religion"... I attend a samll concervative Baptist church which I came to after my Salvation. I am a member of that congrigation by election of the membership... But my Faith, and the Faith of those I know personaly, is not bound by man made doctrin or dogma of "religion"... I came To God in the Way He proscribes. God accepted me... I received His free gift of salvation.... I then sought out a congrigation I could be a part of to share in study and growth in my Faith... I did not "choose" the Christian faith... I chose to answer God... by doing so I became of The Body of The Church of which Jesus The Christ is The Head. This makes me one of The True Christian Faith.... I do beleive that God led me to the congrigation I am a part of now.

I am a buddhist but was raised in a Christian household. I chose buddhism because of its non-violent and accepting nature. It may be the foundation of many popular religions today as well. In buddhism we don't tell you that you are wrong not to be a buddhist. We believe that acceptance of your situation is understanding the path you walk, we walk.

When a Christian I found many unaccepting of Jews, Muslims, Buddhist and other faiths that were not Christian. I left that religion to be more spiritually rooted and tolerant of others. I actually heard a minister tell me, with joy no less, that so and so of that other faith would burn in hell.

Buddhist do not kill people because they are not Buddhist either. We know that you need your space to grow and allow you the time to grow as best you can from where you are. There is not a place of eternal punishment such as hell in Buddhism either. Only a path to enlightment and perfection.

I hope this helps you.

I became Catholic for a few reasons:

- Events in my life that led me to that place and circumstance.
- The need to have a religious outlook that satisfied both mind and heart.
- The belief in the Real Presence
- A devotional and mystical tradition that allowed me to express my faith beyond just sitting in a pew 10 AM on Sundays.
- I believed that God and Jesus are engaged in the world today, and didn't leave us without a living presence of him, and I felt the RCC had a theology that expresses that view in a way I like and believe in.

I am Christian; and became Christian mainly because of my love in science. I have studied science as well as many other religions and concluded that Christianity is the only true religion to be considered; mainly because of the historical background of Christianity and because of the man whom died for us all......Jesus Christ. Jesus was a man whom lived, in Bethleham to the travels of the Roman Empire......so much evidence and so much scientific proof of a divine creator.

I studied several religions for many years, and when I studied Hinduism, it just really touched me personally more than any other. I could relate to it and it felt right to me.

I've never chosen. I was raised catholic, and there was absolutely NOTHING I could do about that.

Then I became an atheist. It wasn't a goal I was working toward.
