Or is he allowed to do whatever he wants to, regardless of it being right or wrong?
If he follows certain rules, who set them and what are they?
If he can do whatever how do we know he does everything he can to help us?

Gary, when Einsten said "god does not play dice with the universe" he was denying a theory of physics that says a lot of the universe is based on chance. Einsten did not believe in a personal god.

The "God" you talk about can do what "the leaders of the religions" want "HIM" (masculin as they are mostly Male) to do.

The ONE (CREATOR) or ALL CREATION, being a numeric, neutral and not gender-based concept, has to follow the LAW that is the laws of Nature or the Laws of the UNIVERSE. ONE is scientific and Mathematical. ONE is not a PERSONAL "God".

The sun does not shine more on the good than on the bad. No matter how hard you pray, or meditate, the sun shines evenly (except for clouds and the weather) etc...on ALL...The ONE is fair. and just. The ONE obeys ITS own LAWS. The ONE does not KILL or command other to either KILL or not to KILL. You can pray that the tornado misses your house if you want to and if that gives you hope, then fine, but the tornado is not affected by your prayer, neither is the ONE. It is wiser to get out of the way of the Tornado that to stand there and pray. But if it's too late to move, then Prayer is better than nothing....In fractals, the wings of a butterfly affect the weather and the "Positive" attitude affects the outcome of events to a certain degree. But it is not the "hand of God" or the ONE. ONE is fair and just and does not favour those who "pray" over those who "meditate" or who "sin".

The MYTHS of religion will have to change as people as yourself start asking questions such as the one you ask.

We are a GLOBAL society still believing in the myth of millenia old desert tribes. The "gods" of these small and minor desert tribes favoured the adherents to these tribal religions and were jealous, lustful, power-hungry, warring and were really the figments of the imagination of the "priestly class" who responded to the desires of "war-lords" or the military leaders of these tribes. Mohammed was a caravan owner who become a military leader. The same with the Bible. Many of the Biblical Characters are kings, generals and leaders of the People.

The story of Christ is a little different but he story of Christianity is just the same as other religions. The little group of the little guy (the Jesus Movement) was taken over by the "organizers", (Paul) the elite (Mark, Luke, etc..) and finally the "emperors" and the kings of the people (the Popes).

Those gods, being the creations of humans, have human attributes and follow any rules that the individual leader wants their God to follow.

The CREATOR is ONE...ONE is ALL(The Creation). ALL is ONE

Everything in the UNIVERSE can be brought down to ONE and ONE, being a mathematical concept has LAWS that IT obeys.

A little poem:

B-4, B-3, B-2
Before be two, be ONE!!

Some of the rules that God has set does not apply to him, for example, rules pertaining to physical things like sex, eating, etc. However the principles that are behind all his regulations were his own creation, it's who he is. His main quality is love. He expects this from his worshipers, too. He is also just, powerful and wise. He had a plan set up to help us right after Adam sinned and this is at Gen. 3:15. God had to prove to everyone that was watching, Satan and the demons, and the angels that what the devil was proposing regarding humans ruling themselves would fail and this is the only reason he has not stepped in yet, but will soon, according to bible prophecy.

What kind of rules are you referring to? Moral, physical? Of course all physics and mathematics are based on rules. God is not accountable for His actions we don't understand. Ever heard the saying: whoever has the gold makes the rules? Well God has the gold. He is under no obligation to explain everything to us. His rules determine the exquisite movement of the stars, galaxies, and the entire universe. We were made with the gift of free will, He helps us according to His own decisions, which is knowledge not available to us at this point in our development as humans. But the Bible says in time all things will be known. The Bible tells us God does not make 'mistakes', and Einstein said "God does not play dice with the universe", indicating he has a purpose for everything He does, regardless of how our human senses perceive right and wrong. He is the ultimate law giver, as is His right as the creator of all things.

HUH!?!?!?! i'm no longer an atheist .... and that lacked like .... good judgment? at the start ..... rules, as you talk approximately them, are guy made! God made rules .... gravity, that for each action there is an equivalent and opposite reaction (with the aid of fact of this we save on with different rules .... we don't prefer to be crushed up via different people!) time, and issues like this ..... and those rules purely prepare to those beings residing in the international in human bodies (hint - animals would possibly no longer adventure time the comparable way we do) yet what happens once you progression into eternity? What happens to time? once you go out the ambience what happens to gravity? AHHHH T-H-I-N-ok! with the aid of fact of this God created people with brains!

Current consensus appears to be "Yes". And His main rule appears to be "Do not interfere in anything; Let the universe run on its own". Looks like He created the universe, defined laws of physics, etc, and just let it run.
Also, there are things even God cannot do. Like he cannot create a rock so heavy that even He cannot lift. Because if he does, there is something he cannot do (or, lift). If he cannot create, there is His limit. So, He cannot do anything that limits his power. Also, He cannot do things that do not make sense, like he cannot make 1+1=3.

He does not need any rules because he is Just and Righteous. He cannot lie Everything he does for us is for our own good if we obeyed him and lived how he tells us in the bible we would not be in the mess we are in now. He Has the right to rule over us because on our own we will mess it up every time. Under his rule we will thrive forever. God is never wrong. We have the perfect example if Adam and Eve had listen to God they would have lived forever But they listened to Satan's lies and disobeyed God and look what they got They lost their beautiful garden and lost everlife. And here we are today It is simple we cannot rule ourselves. Even our Governments are crooked. Only God can rule us not mans government only Gods Government which is righteous. I know i got off track. I could not help my self.

This is the question the Pope sought to address in his speech that caused so much ruckus in the news recently. He addressed this question of divine transcendence, and how far it goes. Could God suddenly declare that one plus one is three? The Pope argues against so transcendent a view of God.

His opinion is that what God does is always going to be consistent with reason. Since we believe God is good, it would be inconsistent with his nature for God, for instance, to command a person to do evil. God's perfection is not in his ability to be good, even were he to hypothetically choose an evil. God's perfection is in his perfect goodness - the consistency with which he will choose goodness.

The only real way for you to get a satisfactory answer to this question is to study the Bible, to get to know God and to learn from his past dealings with his people. That way you will come to really know for yourself that God is love, that everything he does is just. He cannot lie, he set rules for everything, and follows them himself. He doesn't do anything wrong because he is perfect. Once you gain true knowledge of God and his ways, you will be certain of this yourself.

God yes has his own guidelines in which He follows; God is a supreme Judge over all.

God, is a God of rightousness and knows not evil nor does he perform evil out of pure "just because", but rather God performs what He knows to be right and what benefits his creation, that being mankind as a whole. The rules are set by himself, He creates all and all obey Him.

We know through the Bible that God does not wish for any to be condemned, but for all to come to him through his love, mercy and grace brought to us by his son Jesus Christ; it is only by him that we are saved. By this message one can only conclude that God does love us..........more than we can understand.

First of all the true God by definition can do whatever he wants to. He makes the rules and abides by them. The real question is the final one "how do we know" and the answer is we don't. Who can know the mind of God? We just have to have faith that He does know what's best whether that be discipline or blessing.
