Please Help me!!!

Recently my wife caught by speed camera driving my friend’s car. She has valid international driving licence. Although she has insurance, it is not valid because I have put her name as second driver and added as having full UK driving licence to save some money. My friend’s car has full comprehensive insurance. She sent her driving licence copy with notice letter but no reply since a month. I am bit worried.

My question is do they check the insurance of my wife when they impose points on her? Also in few months she is hoping to get full UK licence so do the points on international licence will carry on new one? When she was driving she already had provisional licence, so does she get the point on provisional licence and international licence become invalid?

Thanks in advance…

Funny, but there is no such thing as an "international drivers license". They simply do not exist. A lot of scam sites onthe internet sell these bogus things to unsuspecting people, but they are not real for any purpose and the whole international drivers license thing is a scam.

The Federal Trade Commission in the US has information on its web site regarding these phony documents. In short, your wife was drving without a license.

You will be ok to drive. The licence is only to get updated and there is nothing telling by letter that you are not aloud to drive. If for any reason the police ask for your licence you have 7 days in which to show it anyway or tell them the DVLA have it. Once people pass tests and things they can drive while the Licence is away getting updated. I wounder why yours is getting updated these things don't need updated for years? It may be an old type they have introduced a new Photo Licence all it contains is a new back ground and some additional numbers below the photo. Insurance is still valid as you have made them aware that you have passed your test. It is only invalid if you have not declared any changes like traffic offences.
