Where is everybody getting this info that the CJ7 and the YJ are different lengths? The answer is yes you can swap them but the tailgate different so you might have to install the lifgat from a CJ7. Also the doors might need readjustment to line up properly. In the end measure everything. If it seems like too much work, don't do it.

Only if you plan to put the wrangler body on the CJ7, two completely different vehicles and not the same width.

I suppose you could make it work in a ugly and probably unsafe manner, but why do this?

And the correct answer is a resounding NO. Do not attempt to adapt the wrong top to fit the vehicle because it will not fit right or be secure. The last thing I want to run over on the road is your adapted YJ top that flew off your CJ.

You would have to seriously modify your Jeep to fit the top so I would say no. With the variations in window angle, window height, and body length, it just isn't a good fit. In fact, it isn't a fit at all.

I doubt it, they have different lengths, but then you can adapt and modify just about anything :(
