they hurt...just take some ibuprofein...if the braces are cutting your gums try dental wax and if that doesnt work call your ortho...they can prescripe something like they did for me. it would numb your mouth

I got braces....and they DO hurt...suck on some ice, pop some pills and deal...it's hell...have a nice couple years...I'm enjoying mine.

take some aleve....maybe drink some hot soup or put a heating pad on your mouth to soothe the pain... the pain will go away in a few days and it'll be well worth it in the end!!

most orthodontist's well offer you this wax stuff(its also available at wal-mart in the dental supply area); but sugar-free gum is what my dentist told me to chew for the pain.

ibuprofen if its really bad; also try chewing gum
