That's one of the most talked about topics in America today, because there are so many people that claim to be Christians who really don't act anything like one.
Here's how you can tell a Chistian:
They are:
patient, kind, love one another, have a zeal for the Word of God, servants, forgiving, not selfish, not easily angered, love to share and help others, follow Christ, acknowledge God in everything that they do, pray everyday, believe, trust, and love God with all of their heart, soul, mind, and strength, willing to sacrifice things in this natural life that will pass away(anything that is contrary to the Word of God, like money, drugs, alcohol, sex, illicit activities and even people) for the greater good, which is an abundant life in Christ on earth and after death, Christians don't comprise their Christianity for anything or anybody, knowing that it will not please their Heavenly Father. Christians like to be distinctively different from the world (anything that is contrary to Jesus). This means they dress concervatively, their watch what comes out of their mouth. They don't use foul language, and gossip, backbite, or curse. This is why:
1 John says:
"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever."
Now we know that no one is perfect, however, when a Christian does anything that is against the word of God, they are convicted in their heart because they know that they have displeased their Heavenly Father. God Bless.

You can see Jesus in them actions speak much louder then words even tho Christians are still not perfect we are forgiven and Jesus continues to make us a new person the word of God is food for our spirit as Jesus told Satan when Satan said if you are the Son of God then turn those stones into bread Jesus said man can not live on bread alone but by the word of God.
Jesus told us to shine like stars in the sky we know that stars have no light of there own they only reflect the light from the sun we too must reflect the light of the Son Jesus Christ so to answer your Question you can see the Light of our Lord shine from there life's.

You should be able to "know" a Christian by their lifestyle, as in the case of the people who led me to the Lord. They seemed "odd", but at the same time, they were loving, kind, and true to SOMETHING, what, I wasn't sure in the beginning, but it made me "thirsty" to know more. I praise God for sending them my way. And truly, Christians SHOULD be a little different from everyone else around you...for we are called to "come out from among them, saith the Lord, and be ye separate...". Otherwise we live like everyone else, and we have no testimony.

Matthew Chapter 7 talks about knowing them by their fruits. Christians also all have the Holy Spirit, but I think it's just always best to ask and find out.

You really cant tell. There is no way. But I guess the Bible does say you will know them by the fruits of the Spirit. Love one another, understanding, compassion, whatever the fruits are! Yikes, I am out of touch with the Bible. But that is the only way, you can tell! By the fruits of the Spirit.

No way to tell. People are all the same whether they are Jews, Christians or Muslims. Unless you ask; you won't know

You probably won't see an outside appearance that is different as we are all human. You should see the person acting differently... like being kind and generous, for example.

you won't always know, but looking for jewelry which has a cross, a Christian fish or WWJD on it would be helpful. You could always ask, and if they are not......you could tell them what Christ has done for you! God bless!
