I've seen that with every hispanic business owner here. Whether it be a restaurant or Karate studio, store or grocery.....anything. We are having a huge grocery opening here soon. Saw the sign and the re-vamping and went in to apply.......ONLY Mexican employees, from the Manager on down. There was never anything to indicate they were or had been hiring. I wasn't even allowed to fill out an application. This is a very diverse area with people from all over the world. And ALOT of people looking for work. That was out and out blatent discrimination. They don't even want our business. Atleast that's the attitude of the business owners here. We are in their way. I have never been treated so rudely or just totally ignored even when I am trying to do my part to assist small business owners over major corporations.

Notice how William SS answered the question honestly, yet he still got thumbs down. The answers to this particular question are actually based on opinion, not fact right?! So why would anyone get a thumbs down for an opinion simply because it is different than yours?! Anyways to answer your question, not sure that I can, just seems that everyone is getting so nitpicky nowadays about what is really discrimination and what isnt. Am I wrong? And of course they should be an equal employer, but is every business you know of equal?

Maybe they are an equal employer, but the only people that apply are mexicans. Or maybe they are the only ones that will work for what they want to pay.

HAHAHAHAHAHA! I don't know if you mean to be funny but that is hilarious! UM, did you apply to be the enchilado cook? Is it your dream to make margaritas or scrape beans off a plate? Maybe they turned you down because you were afraid of the chiles.
Mexican restaurants get to discriminate against people who can't cook Mexican food.

Well it would kind of make sense to hire people that actually know how to cook it. I don't see you saying anything about why asian restuarants on hire asian people. Same thing right? Or do just not like mexicans? Besides I don't know about your area, but where I live we have more white and black people working at the mexican restuarants and the mexicans work at italian restuarants. Weird huh?

It seems to me (my opinion only) that some people would not frequent a Mexican resturant if its not 'Mexicans' working/cooking there. After all only Mexicans can cook mexican food..**severe eye rolling here** ..(sheesh-can you feel the sarcasm there?) I've seen the same thing in oriental resturants. Can't be chinese food if orientals aren't fixing it. I have however been in a number of places where the ethnicity of the staff had no bearing on the customers decision so that sterotype is changing.

White human beings try this too. And so do black human beings. And Asians. I recommend.. ever be conscious, while youre in Chinatown, that many of the employees are chinese language? comparable factor in chinese language eating places. and likewise in Japantown, maximum workers are the two chinese language, eastern, or Vietnamese. i'm particular its like that anyplace you flow. there is particularly some places the place i flow, and each and all of the employees will the two be white or black. i'm quite particular that each and each race is biased in the direction of their own human beings. and is no longer Chipotle meant to be like a "Mexican" eating place, besides?
