I met this guy last year at my friend's school. I didnt start talking to him (on myspace) til about a month ago. Now we're going to the movies together as friends(i think). Is this considered a date? because he hasnt officially asked me out and I've only met him that one time.

Well he's obvously interested becuase he wouldn't want to get to know you for the sake of it. I think his plan is to get to know you and if he likes you he wants to go out with you. Maybe you should make the first move if you brave enough?

This is pretty much a date. I mean, he has specifically set aside a block of his time to do something expressly with you. That to me equates to a date. Just remain your calm and collected self throughout the date, do not come on too strong, and at the very end of the date lean in close to him and see if he follows your cue to kiss. Also, when and if you hold hands, squeeze his hand, and if he squeezes back then that means that he really likes you! Congrats on finding a great guy! Good luck, and have a great time this Friday!

That depends on your definition of "officially" being asked out. Was the question of, "Want to go to the movies?" asked? Or was it more like, "I will meet you at this movie theatre for this movie." more along the lines of the conversation? In either case, if you are seeing someone for social experience, then it would qualify as a date.

I wouldn't consider it a date unless he offers or flat out pays for everything, he may just want to see what kind of person you are. Be prepared to pay for your own way, do not expect him to. I really think he is considering it as two friends going to the movies.

Think of this as an opportunity to get to know each other to see if you could reach the dating status. If not, then you guys can just be friends and no harm done.

It's only a date if you BOTH consider it a date. You will have no way of knowing how HE feels about it unless you ask him or see how the actual evening goes. There is CERTAINLY no way WE can tell you, since we don't KNOW you two.

i would totally consider that a date but if your careful and you play it down he will get the jift of you only wanting it to be friends, dont play it down to much or he'll think he has no chance and it'll all be over! if you want it to be a date dont play it down just go with the flow, act like it is a date and maybe thats how it'll end up!!

i'd say no...because he probably just wants to go the movies to get to know you as friends...i've been to the movies with guys before like just the two of us...but we're pretty good friends.

he might be trying to see if he would like to go out with you in the future

It is not actually a date, but it may leed to one, and it is possible he thinks it is one. Keep an open mind and you'll be fine.
