couldnt think past physical evidence, that they are obtuse? But one that cant comprehend proof at spiritual levels can have faith in science that proves that something just really isnt wrong. Have they personally proven this thinking themselves? (I'm not trying to offend anyone)

Thank you all for your imput. I have and still do a lot of studying of science and it has only increased my faith. We humans only use 10%+- of our brains, isn't it possible that we have not yet evolved well enough to be able to understand the bigger picture.

I only used those words because of how often believers are called weak minded, or brainwashed.

I'll take facts over faith any time. I can not comprehend spirituality because it is not logical.

I'm trying to sum this all up. (something RabidB did an excelent job at) You think you have to have a strong mind to believe in things that have no proof. Things that have no parallel. Just believing something does not make it true.

Of course you're trying to offend. You wouldn't have been so condescending if you didn't.

"Faith is often the boast of the man who is too lazy to investigate." - F. M. Knowles

The whole point is to keep investigating and researching to find out what the truth is. Not to take the word of a single book of dubious reputation that was written in a backward time, and what your preacher tells you to think. See, that would make you weak-minded. ( but, I'm not trying to offend anyone)

I want to know how one "thinks past physical evidence."

When you stop dealing with physical evidence, you are no longer thinking--you are speculating. Because humans only have the capability to sense phenomena with physical properties, they have no ability to perceive supernatural phenomena. Without the experience of or evidence for supernatural phenomena (which, necessarily, transcends physicality), there can be no logical examination thereof. Again, one enters the realm of speculation.

So, is one weak-minded who refuses to blindly speculate on what might be true, and then accept it as absolute truth? I don't think so.

Wouldn't it mean that one is weak minded if they can't bring themselves to question words in a 2000 year old book written during a time when we believed in dragons and filled with more fantasy than any entertaining novel in the last 2000 years?

Do you mean to say that you think it is weak minded to give great weight and importance to facts, evidence, proof and logic?

Seems pretty good to me - though obviously it is not for everybody.

The Bible is a very scientific book...I don't see a discrepancy between the faith and science. I have a problem when atheists try to insist that the Bible holds no scientific truths, even though findings have proven this false!
