You might think about trying this book called "The Movie Star Diet" by Steve Simmons. It helped me lose thirty pounds in 2 1/2 months when I didn't think anything would work. My goal to begin with was only 20 lbs! It has a really easy plan to follow and an excellent workout as well.

Eat a diet that's 40% protiene, 30% carbs, 30% fat. Do two 30 minute sessions of cardio a day. Eat a little protiene right after you work out, but wait 1-2 hours before you eat an actual meal. Don't go no carbs unless you need to lose like 10 lbs in 2 weeks and don't care what happens afterwards because you'll just gain it back. You need to eat carbs to have the energy to work out, otherwise you'll be a zombie and wont work as hard, and won't lose as much weight. Stay away from sugar, as it turns into fat, and stay away from salt as it turns into water weight. The average person eats between 2000-3000 calories per day, and it's about 3000 calories per pound, so do the math. If you want to lose 10 lbs, you need to cut out 30,000 calories. Your exercise will take care of about 800 calories, so if you cut out another 400, that's 1200 lost per day....which means you can lose about a pount every 2-3 days. If you start doing cardio, you'll probably lose 5 lbs of water in the first week alone.

pick up a 5 or 10 pound weight at the gym and visualize that weight coming off holding the weight in your hands helps bring home just how heavy even 5 pounds of extra fat can be
