Bless them as long as it is legal, they are mutually interested in each other, the 17-year-old is mature enough to handle dating and the parents of the 17-year-old agree.

Call the police. The 45 year old has no business dating a 17 year old, and besides it's against the law.

WHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?????????????????????? MAN UR FRIEND IS A PEVERTED PEADOPHILE. He/she should know better I would understand if it was a 30 year old or even a 25year old because these persons are more mature in their thinking and understanding of the world they also have more experience having been on earth longer and are better equipped to handle tough emotional situations but dating a 17 year old at that age is just inexcusable cause that individual is still a child and is young enough to be his/her child and if he/she had any sort of integrity, morals or respect for this 17 year old, he/she would dissolve this relationship and go seek counselling cause he/she definitely needs help. It's one thing to entertain the thought, but to actually execute it? That's wrong just wrong. Does the 17 year old's parents know about this, cause i'm sure they wouldn't be please. I think this person is taking advantage of the 17 year old because he/she must know that this is never gonna work cause that's like mixing oil and water no matter how hard you stir, they NEVER MIX so he/she needs to stop deluding him/herselve and get a grip.

First of all, do the parents of the 17 year old know that they are dating. I am sure that someone might have a heart attack to find out that their underage child is dating an "old man." Second, what is wrong with your friend that he would do something like that. It's considered "cradle robbing." Does your friend have a problem with women his age? And I would seriously talk to the girl...she needs a mental check if she keeps dating him. She's still in High School for Christ's sake!

Ok, what do I think about a guy, 45 years of age, dating a 17 year old girl? Extreme but if he really likes her and she likes him back then there's no harm. They're just enjoying the thrill.
If it's not a serious relationship then stop worrying. It's his life and he's enjoying it...as long as this girl is enjoying it too AND they're careful on certain things.
If it's a serious relationship, then it can only mean that love has no limits, right?

Hmmmm.....if it's a very mature 17 year old then fine. Although i generally don't oppose big age differences, there is a limit, in the sense that a 17 year old is still a child, and mentally not as developed as a 45 year old!!! For example if a 20 year old was dating a 48 year old, it would be different...i don't know if I'm making sense, but these are just my personal opinions.

Foolish friend. Where does he take her to MacDonald's play area. This is far too big of an age difference and although he may think he has a trophy on his arm around his buds I'm sure that in reality they are all laughing about it behind his back. A good friend of mine is 56 and seeing a 32 year old female and all his friends, including myself, have told him that she is way to young for him. Goodness he has a daughter just a year younger. UG!!

I dont think that this is a good idea considering in most areas it is illegal--he better think twice or he might end up in prison, even if the 17 year old is agreeing to it!

Well, first off I think it is illegal...there is no excuse for that, there are plently of people that are of legal age to go after...leave the kids alone! How can the thought of dating someone 30 years younger than you even cross someones mind???? No offense, but your friend needs HELP!!!

If it's true, then your 45 year old friend is desperate. Tell him to keep his hands off minors and find someone his own age if he can.

Assuming the 45 year old is male and the 17 year old is female, I think he's a lucky man.
