If you restretch the piercing, it may cause scar tissue and the area could become slightly hard and "lumpy". The biggest I stretched my earlobes to was 00ga. I took them out, but I have restretched them numerous times since without problems.
Because of the large size, your earlobes aren't going to fully shrink anyway.

Yes it can cause damage if you aren't careful. I think the rate you were stretching was a bit too fast, but at least you didn't skip gauges which is a huge plus. As long as you are gentle and slow with all stretching here on out, you should haven't too many problems. Just use a taper and never force the plugs in and you should be able to avoid rips and prolonged pain and complications
Keep in mind that going back and forth from large to small and to large again will wear on the elasticity of your skin and fistula (tube of flesh inside the ear; what you actually stretch). After a while, there MIGHT not be an option to go back to a smaller gauge and you *may* need to have your ears surgically fixed.

honey... can i please please please make a suggestion? please don't stretch that frequently. it's really not good for your ears. you could seriously damage the tissue with such drastic stretching. i know it doesn't seem like such a big deal, but it needs the time to heal fully.
having said that... there shouldn't be a problem to restrech IF you do it the right way. put your original jewelry that you were pierced with back in, or the closest to that fits properly without being forced through. wait a good 6 weeks or so and let them heal up all the way. then, about once a month, you can increase the the by one guage. it's a lengthy process, but it's really not worth the rush because you could really hurt yourself. no one wants torn up lobes because they didn't want to be patient. also, always remember to use a little bit of water based lube when you're inserting your tapers. this will make the whole stretching process much much easier and less tramatic. stretching should never hurt more than a slight pressure and you should never ever bleed if you're doing it right. good luck!

provided you re-stretch them at a sensible rate then there shouldn't be a problem in terms of damaging your lobe.
my ears are currently about 13mm and if i leave them out for a couple of days they shrink right down and i have to gently work the jewellery back in over a few minutes - but my ears have been pierced for about 15 years and stretched for around 7 or 8 so they're a bit more pliant than recently stretched lobes.

a number of my ear piercings are a 10 gauge, which i exploit steel tunnels for. in case you % them super sufficient to work out via way of the tunnels, in spite of the undeniable fact that now no longer too super, i ought to advise a 12 or 10 gauge. Ear piercings maximum many times initiate at a 20-18 gauge, and as gauge volume gets smaller, the dimensions gets bigger. A 20 is the smallest and a 00 is the main intense gauge. After which you get into inches or millimeters. To flow approximately stretching them, i ought to point (from my own enjoy) only slowly moving up one gauge at a time, and enable your holes to stretch on their own. i've got used tapers, which you will apply, in spite of the undeniable fact that i do no longer recommend them given which you would be able to tear the floor or worsen it, and it unquestionably will bleed and scab, putting a extend in stretching. i've got additionally tried utilising heavy rings, in spite of the undeniable fact that they only ripped my ears on condition that I wore them too long. Any distinctive questions in this-please e mail correspondence or i.m. me!
