Take a handfull of noodles and put in a big pot filled with water and add about three big pinches of salt. Turn the heat on high untill it boils and then set to low untill the noodles are done. test to find out should only take about 5-10 minutes after the water boils real good. Get some fat free butter and melt in a pan about a full stick or two good size scoops from a container. Throw in some garlic chunks of real garlic if you have it, chives, a little salt and pepper but not much, and some oregino or italian seasoning and bring the butter to a boil and then immediatly set to the lowest setting on the stove. If you have some veggies put a hand full in a pot with water and bring it to a boil for 30 seconds and the take it off the stove. wait two minute and strain the water. Add the veggies to the butter. once the pasta is finished strain the water out and add in the veggie and garlic butter sauce. mmm mmm good and fast .. about 15 minutes..

ok i went to a betty crocker website and copied this recipe for you...good luck!!
Prep: 10 min.; Bake: 1 hr., 20 min. You'll love the ease of this casserole. You can make it ahead of time, refrigerate it, and then bake it while the turkey rests. It's smart to let chilled casseroles come to room temperature before you bake them.
1 (32-ounce) package frozen Southern-style hash browns
1 (16-ounce) container sour cream
2 cups (8 ounces) shredded Cheddar cheese
1 (10 3/4-ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
1 small onion, finely chopped
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 cups crushed cornflakes cereal
1/4 cup melted butter
Stir together first 6 ingredients in a large bowl.
Spoon potato mixture into a lightly greased 13- x 9-inch baking dish. Sprinkle evenly with crushed cornflakes, and drizzle evenly with butter.
Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 20 minutes or until bubbly.
Note: For testing purposes only, we used Ore-Ida Southern Style Hash

make a pasta dish with shrimp and home-made tomato-garlic-sauce... (You can use extra-virgin olive oil to sautee the shrimp with the tomatoes, and garlic to keep it low in fat and healthy)... Sprinkle Grated Parmesan Cheese on top to finish it off.. It'll be wonderful... (Boil the pasta while you sautee the shrimp and tomatoes and garlic together. Also, dice the tomatoes before cooking, as it will cut down the actual cooking time, do the same with the garlic... Spice it to your taste) This dish shouldn't take more than an hour and ten minutes to complete...

risotto:
Mushroom Risotto with Peas:
8 cups canned low-salt chicken broth
1/2-ounce dried porcini mushrooms
1/4 cup unsalted butter
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cups finely chopped onions
10 ounces white mushrooms, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 1/2 cups Arborio rice or short-grain white rice
2/3 cup dry white wine
3/4 cup frozen peas, thawed
2/3 cup grated Parmesan
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, optional
Bring the broth to a simmer in a heavy medium saucepan. Add the porcini mushrooms. Set aside until the mushrooms are tender, about 5 minutes. Keep the broth warm over very low heat.
Melt the butter in a heavy large saucepan over medium heat. Add olive oil. Add the onions and saute until tender, about 8 minutes. Add the white mushrooms and garlic. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the porcini mushrooms to a cutting board. Finely chop the mushrooms and add to the saucepan. Saute until the mushrooms are tender and the juices evaporate, about 5 minutes. Stir in the rice and let it toast for a few minutes. Add the wine; cook until the liquid is absorbed, stirring often, about 2 minutes. Add 1 cup of hot broth; simmer over medium-low heat until the liquid is absorbed, stirring often, about 3 minutes. Continue to cook until the rice is just tender and the mixture is creamy, adding more broth by cupfuls and stirring often, about 28 minutes (the rice will absorb 6 to 8 cups of broth). Stir in the peas. Mix in the Parmesan. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.

If you are in England heres a cheap and easy one.
Bachelors savory rice cooked.
When its ready stir fry some stuff like mushrooms, peppers, spring onion or anything that you have.
add the rice to the frying pan or wok with a splash of soy sauce or white wine and throw in a handfull of cahews if you are feeling exotic.
I love this and its nice with diced chicken added if you want.
