They didn't teach this crap when I was in school and my son starts high school next year.

Is there alternatives to taking this subject like biology, chemistry or physics.

If they tell me he has to take it my family runs one of the largest corporate law firms in the country I'm sure they'll change their minds.

I want my son to be highly educated and I'll do what I can to make sure that happens.

Would taking an issue like this all the way to the supreme court be a good thing for the future of education?

I would rather have him learn about religion than monkeys, at the very least religion teaches about history.

Evolution is taught in biology, because that's what it is. I don't know of any school that allows students to not take biology, but you could always check with your school's policy.

Pulling out your lawyer family won't do any good. This issue has already appeared before several courts, dear. The fact is that science is being taught in the science room as it should be; religion is left out of it as it should be.

If you want to not allow him to learn basic scientific theories like evolution, then perhaps a Christian school would be best for you. That way the public school doesn't have to try and educate you as well as your son.

Well, you need the courses for sure if you want to become a Veterinary Technician. I suggest taking the courses some other way, Night School, Summer School, just try getting those courses. As for the 40 hours, I am sure that if you look around you can find a clinic which will help you get in if you ask nicely. "Related Work Experience" doesn't actually have to be working on animals :P

Evolution is taught in biology class. But you can usually abstain from that section for religion reasons. But if you think it is such a bad subject, why not let him learn the science behind it? Then when he comes home you can give all your evidence as to why it isn't a good theory and why yours is better. The goal of high school isn't to mold you into one way, it is to expose you to the most knowledge out there and let you grow on your own.

Evolution is not a course unto it's own, it is part of biology. If you want your child to have a good education, let him learn about Evolution from his school, then teach him what you believe at home. A good education does not come from restricting what one can learn, but from expanding it.

No, I do not think that making a federal case out of this would be a good thing.

Evolution has little to do with monkeys.

aHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA *wipes eyes*. If this a joke take a bow, you are really funny. If you are serious, I feel so sad for you but more for your son. Evolution is part of biology and has been proven by chemistry. It is not a course in of itself unless your son majors in biology in the University level. The most your son will have to study is about 2 or 3 chapter about evolution in biology.

Of course, you can always send your son to a religious school but then he will not learn any type of science.

There is not an "evolution" class. What kind of propoganda have you been reading? It will be like a day or two in class, and even in that case the teacher probably will present it in a matter to be debated.

If you want to teach him religion, do it at home. Or you say you're so rich and powerful, put him in a private school.

Yes evolution is taught in Biology subject........i had read that all n got vyer good marks in that as i had to pass the exams.........it was included in our course..... but it didnt effect my believes .......and dont believe in evolution thoery....i m vyer much clear about it that we are not children of apes n we r from Adam n Eve. so if u cant do anything just let ur son study , but tell him about the believes , he ,ll not get confused hopfully.

but there are alternatives.thats maths where one doent need to continue with biology but for high schools its must.no way to escape.

How old are you? Where did you go to high school? Evolution has been taught in public schools since the 1960s.

No, evolution is not required. That would be illegal. The school may choose what it teaches. it is legal to teach, but not required. So is creation, it is legal to teach if the school so chooses, but it was the "requirement " to teach it that was struck down in court.

Go Biology. I'm not going to tell you why, because that might make you angry.
