I would like to try it this year for Christmas and let my boys decorate them but i've never tried them!
Any suggestions?

Ginger Bread Man - Recipe for Life







Ingredients:


1 Heaping cup of encouragement
1 cup of melted compassion
2 cups of hope
1 cup of love 1 tablespoon of faith (it only takes a little)
2 large attitude
Lots of hugs in assorted sizes



Instructions:



Cream encouragement and compassion together. Add hope, love, and faith. Mix thoroughly until smooth. Slowly add the unbeaten attitude. Batter should be firm but not unyielding. knead gently. Roll in hugs and cut out to the desired shape. Add stars for eyes and a kiss. Bake in a warm oven. Excellent when shared with a friend.

I recommend the Wilton gingerbread recipe. It's tasty and very good for cutting out shapes. This reference page also has the recipe for royal icing, which is the kind that sets up hard and is great for decorating cookies.

5 cups of flour 1 tsp of baking soda 1 tsp of salt 1 tsp of nutmeg 3 tsp of ginger 1 cup of shortening 1 cup of brown sugar 1/2 cup of molasses 2 eggs Sift dry ingedients, melt shortening, add sugar, molasses and eggs, mix. gradually add flour. Divide dough into thirds. Roll between wax paper to 1/2 inch thick.Bake with wax paper in 375 190 degree farenheight 375 degrees c for 13 - 15 minutes. IMMEDIATELY cut pieces into shapes. pull off waxed paper when cooled to decorate.IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO FOLLOW DIRECTIONS
