I'm in the process of authoring a paper for class, and need immediate assistance. If somebody could explain the ANS. in detail that would be wonderful. I need to know if during death the ANS works, and what happens when our boides undergo such excrutiating amounts of pain we pass out, correct? Is this due to the ANS reaction? So, basically, am I right when I say that our bodies can undergo the an extensive amount of pain, but when the pain crosses the threshold of what were are capable of enduring then our boides enter into an involuntary state correct? Such as a person in acar accident who is in such immense pain that he passes out--Is this due to the ANS, and if so can you tell me how it workks? Also, a greater assistance would be a website I can attain all this information from.

THANKS

We may pass out, but our nervous sysytem kicks in, and we start to breath, though we may be unconscious.
Here is a site...
www.anatomyandphysiology.com

I am not sure if you need a password. Just click on a book and go from there.
I am also a med student, so I look up wikepiedia(sp)
all the time, and shockingly enough, its a GREAT resource.

Good Luck
We are doing the CNS, ANS, PNS this week.....
