I am Christian, and I too have recognized that some of the greatest battles I face come from so called "Christians". Unfortunately, there are too many Christians that follow and enforce a religion (a set of manmade rules to appear holy) rather than following a relationship with their God.
I would much rather enjoy the company of an athiest, agnostic, muslim, budhist, etc., over a disrepectful, holier than thou Christian any day.

You are an Atheist and yet in my eyes as well as God's you are still his child, I don't deem you bad your beliefs are your beliefs, the bible says we should not judged or we will be judged using the same measurement that we judged someone else, so I take that to mean if I judge you for your doubts so will I be judged the same. I am Christian enough to admit I have not always been Christian and I have also doubted and even now living a saved life I still have doubt come into my mind sometimes, but those are the times I pray the most. So keep being happy and a good person God Bless you.... No one here has the right to judge, God is the only judge that counts.... because truly the bible says it's better to hold your piece anyway, so if I have an issue with something being said or I feel someone is a bad person for saying it, it makes me more of a Christian to hold my piece and pray about it than to stir up anger in someone by stating my opinion.

"Why do so many Christians judge me a bad person or a follower of satan(this is very silly)or immoral?"
It really depends on the type of Christian being dealt with. Some Christians are more conservative ("by the letter of the Bible") while others are more liberal ("the meaning of the Bible is what is important"). Many conservative Christians believe that, in order to do good, they must seek out and convert anyone who is not Christian. Basically, non-Christian equates a follower of Satan. There's no way but the Christian way.
"Why should you judge them "bad" people that are going to hell?"
More conservative Christians take the literal meaning of the Bible to be the literal Word of God. Because of this, anyone who does not believe that Yeshua died and was resurrected for their sins is considered a "bad" person (i.e. going to Hell if they don't convert).
This is dangerous, as many Christians do not truly know what it is they read when they consult the Bible. Much of the Bible has been transliterated, or translated from Hebrew/Aramaic to Latin/Greek to English/French/etc. Because of this, a lot has been lost in translation. Many parts of the Bible are taken out of context from their original, intended meaning. The danger is that the biases of the translator(s) also translate into the text.
"Is it really so hard to comprehend that people can have different beliefs than yours and be happy, good and moral?"
No, not to me, at least. The problem is, to many conservative Christians, "happy, good and moral" don't exist unless it of the Christian brand.

Many Christians feel that without a authoritive moral center one does not have a moral authority to answer to or draw inspiration from. Their morals can be riddled with ambiguity and change as much as a fashion model at an Armani show. While several atheists do have a code of conduct many of our ethics and morals that we live by come from a religious source historically.
Now do you not believe that Christ was the son of God or that he didn't even exist because there are many ancient Roman documents that validate the existance of Jesus and the spread of Christianity from Judea throughout Asia Minor and into Europe. So anyone who thinks Jesus never existed is in major denial.
To the faithful no evidence is needed. To the skeptic no evidence is possible.
Jesus commanded that no person is fit to judge. Judgement is up to God alone so if anyone tells you you're going to the land of all things dark and stinky simply remind them it's not their decision.

I have no reason to doubt that you are"happy, good and moral"... I do not know enough about you to make any judgment about how well you comply with societies norms... And you are correct in that you can not beleive in hell if you want. I do not have enough info to say if you are a follower of satan or not... probably not based on your post....
I was 53 when I became of The True Christian Faith. I was very much a non-beleiver up untill the last moment... I did not come to The Faith trough The Bible or by any Bible Thumper preeaching on me...it is a long story , but my Salvation time came suddenly and hit me with great force... I would, befor it occured, have said any one was crazy nuts to say such a thing could happen... any way... I know now certain things to be true... and I Know that your position, re: God / Jesus and all the Godd stuff. is wrong... but you are correct that you may reject it as you wish... it is just a great saddness to me to see so many good people as youself living, as I know you are, with the spector of hell in your future..
.But in no way can any one of The True Christian Faith compel you , nor use any intimidation, or condemnation, or any high pressure sales tactics to try to sell you on The Truth... If any of The Faith have crossed your moral line in their attempts to share The Good News... you have my apology on behalf of all of The Faith.... I hope the life you choose to live remains a happy one for you

You poor darling girl. I hope you don't think I'm saying that because you are an atheist. I'm saying that because so many people think they're Christian and talk a lot of talk, but they don't really live it. Lost of Christians demonize people that are different than themselves (like gays and lesbians). It just polarizes their sentiments into neat little boxes. Other than that, I don't think it means a thing. It can be really easy to talk about something that is clearly labeled, but it can be hard to sort out what to make of someone that doesn't fit into a box.
If they were really Chistian, I don't think they would be so foolish as to think that being hateful is acceptable under any circumstances. It's just going to make people mad, or turn them off, which may be just what they've done to you. There is something called the love of God that's supposed to be central to their faith. If they don't get it then they're just a bunch of hypocrites. I stopped going to church because I thought they were just a bunch of hypocrites that talked the talk but couldn't walk the walk. I'm going to go back and give them a second chance, maybe you will too.

As a Christian, it is not my job to judge you or your beliefs, although I might make a fair attempt at showing you the blessing Christ has to offer. i would not, however, ram them down your throat if you declined the offer. Any Christian who judges you, taunts you, makes accusations of Satan worship can not call themselves a Christian. it goes against the very idea of Christianity. I would be your friend, too, because there is room enough in my beliefs for the practice of others, and, as Morpheus said in the Matrix, my beliefs don't require you to believe. Neither of us will go to Hell, either. You can be happy, moral, and worry free.
Good Luck!

It's very hard to come together, even in the same religion. (You've catholics, baptists, pentecostals, jehova witnesses, mormons, etc. etc. etc.) and they're all Christians who hate each other and deny that they're related to each other. First of all, do you think that's a godly pattern to follow? Do you think that hatred for others will lead you to God? If they can't even be in the same mind, much more less in the same spirit, which is what their version of God wants. A lot of them only care about how much money they can raise for Jesus, how many people get converted, how well you tip ahem... tithe them, etc. I respect all religions the same, but have more inclination towards some than others. I like Buddhism, Pagan and Atheism, they're the ones that make more sense (if not in history, at least in ethics).

The problem is that neither you nor I can be good and behave morally 100% of the time.
You have found a way, evidently, to be okay with the evidence that says you can't behave well and morally 100% of the time. Good for you.
There is only One who walked the earth who provided a way to God for those who are not good and moral 100% of the time. No religion provides this. A man, who was God, offered the Way. I chose to accept his offer.
You choose not to. Hooray. Go in peace...if you are able to reconcile that stuff in your heart that causes you shame, rage, confusion, and uncertainty. I mean, have you never questioned your motives? Has it never occurred to you that if you were truly good you shouldn't have, then, behaved poorly?
This last has occurred to me. That may be the only difference between you and me.

I have been under the obvious misconception that I am a christian for awhile now so I am not sure how to answer you. But I can say that you should do what you feel is comfortable for you. No one can condemn you to Hell but God and since none of us knows how He will go about deciding for certain then I suggest we all learn to take care of our own weeds before we pick our neighbors. Outside of that, I am going to have to re evaluate my place since Georgia said I am nor a christian and not to be respected. So do not put too much stock in my answer just yet.
