My piercing took over 1 year to fully heal. To speed up the process use sea salt and water to cleans the area. Also avoid playing with it! Youll probably see a light green puss oozing from the piercing but dont freak out, just keep it clean! Another thing youll want to avoid is pants/jeans that have a high waist line cuz it will rub against your belly and slow down healing time.
*zinc also speeds up healing time, try a vitamin supplement

I did the same thing when I was a junior in high school. The big key is real jewelry. If it's not real it won't heal. Get you some sea salt and put it into a warm shot glass of water and twice to three times a day, place the cup over it and leave it on there for about 10 to 15 minutes at a time. That'll keep it clean. Don't touch with your hands. It leaves germs and bacteria on the ring. Cleanliness is the biggest key to it. Mine didn't work at that time, because of the ring and all. I later got it done professionally and all this advice is from the pro that pierced it. Good luck. It usually takes 5 to 6 months. Mine took 4 with the sea salt cleaning routine.

Navel piercings take 6 months on average to heal, but sometimes can take up to a year. During healing time, you should NEVER remove the jewelry. You also need to keep the area clean and take good care of it as to not get an infection (area will be red, very sore and leaking bright yellow or green puss) or cause migration (barbell moves closer to surface of skin) and rejection(jewelry completely pushes itself out of the skin). If you pierced it yourself, you should take it out now or see a piercer asap so they can give you proper jewelry and aftercare instructions.
Use sea salt soaks (sea salt water, mix with warm water so it tastes like tears and saturate a cotton ball in the solution and hold on the area for 10-15 minutes) 2-3 times daily and use liquid gold Dial soap to clean the general region. Be sure to remove any crust from the jewelry very gently using a q-tip and avoid products such as bactine, neosporin, alcohol and peroxide because they will slow healing and make the piercing irritated.
If you are wanting to know how long before the hole closes up after removing the jewelry, give it about 3-6 months if the piercing is less than a month old and it should be fully healed with little visible sign of scarring. If the piercing is older and fully healed, expect it to take at minimum 6 months, but as long as a year or more for the hole to close.
I'm not saying you shouldn't have done it, but if you are hiding this from your parents, they will find out...trust me.

Mine took 4 months to heal. I kept it for 5 years and took it out when pregnant(6 years ago). Still have a little dot where it was. My advice is be honest with your parents and show them. I got my tounge pierced when I was 15 and tried to hide it from my parents. They found out in a matter of days from my best friends dad. Truth always comes out in the end. Yes I got in trouble but I was allowed to keep the tounge ring and a few months later was allowed to get eyebrow pierced. Good luck.

My peircing took about 12 months to heal fully. It got infected though so I don't know if that effected the time. Make sure you clean it at least twice a day. I used bactine and antibiotic ointment and it healed faster. Rubbing alcohol works too. Just make sure you wash it good or it will get infected and that sucks :(

congradulations!!!!!!!!
i had mine done like.... almost two months ago now!!!
an it's almost healed i think.....
like the top part is healed... botom still leaks that weird fluid though..
just keep it clean!!!
an don't let it get touched an rubbed by your clothes or it'll get a little sore..
also i recomend using Q-tips to clean it!!!
much easier than anything!!
just run hot water on the Q-tip, an then put a lil of the liquid antibiotic on there an then have a go at it!!
have fun!!!
you won't regret it!!!
i am also hiding mines.... my dad shall NEVER EVER see it!!! (hopefully)
my mother freaked an nearly fainted....
haha!!
but its all ok!!

i think mine took maybe two months to FULLY heal. just remember to keep it clean and don't play with it by moving the ring up and down. i'm not sure about speeding up the process though. i used some antibacterial body soap that the tattoo/piercing parlor sold to me.
and don't pick at the crust that form around the navel ring. please use a qtip when youre in the shower to wash it out.
good luck!

i think it's different for everybody. when i had mine pierced, it never totally healed - as long as there was jewelry in it (about 1 1/2 years), it always seemed to have issues of some kind. but the ring got caught in my jeans one day and ripped out (OUCH), and that seemed to heal up real quick.

it can take a lonnggg time to heal. but be careful because i knew someone who had theirs pierced and let it close up. 4 years later she became pregnant and there was still a hole and it stretched out to the size of a dime

Around 6 months.. I don't think theres anything you can really do to make them heal faster. Make sure you keep them cleaned so they don't get infected..
