Well, I assume that you already have at least some idea of what you want. You can do a Google or Yahoo! image search and print out a few pictures that are close to your idea. You can also go to www.bmezine.com to look at what other people have gotten. The most important thing about getting a tattoo is shopping around first, find a place that is clean and very professional. Ask to speak with some of the artists, request some portfolios or examples of work they've done. If you want a particular style of tattoo, like Japanese or script, then you can ask if they have someone who's especially good at that. If you feel good about the shop and the artist, then you're good to go. You can describe what you're thinking about getting and they'll usually draw a custom piece for you. Good luck!

If you are getting a tattoo you should have an idea of what exactly you want. You can then sketch something or check out several ideas to being with you so your tattoo artist can drawit up. The best tattoo shop is in Phoenix and Artistic Tattoo (ask for Johnny)

the best place to get a nice tattoo design is from a real artist that tattoos. don't get flash, it's so overdone. my tattoo artist is wonderful, but i don't know where you're located. actually, one of the best places to find a ton of artists in one place is at a tattoo convention. they are held all over america with a lot of wonderful artists. do a search for upcoming tattoo conventions in your area for the most variety in one place.

Hey Michael,
Your own mind. Be creative and think of a very original design so that you can claim it as your own. Start with doodling and go from there. If you are not artistic, then come up with the concept and have the tatooist draw it out before you have it inked. Hope this helps : -)
Best regards,
tman

well you could search online for flash. Or you could find the tattoo shop where you want your tattoo done, pick an artist and have him or her design you one. That would be your best bet since they would be able to tell you what looks good, what doesn't...etc.
Also, most artists love putting their original designs on someone. It gives them a chance to express themselves creatively.

From yourself. You need a tattoo that means something to you, you don't want something generic that you might see someone else with. Pull ideas from all different sources.
