Both are extremely popular now; and they even have dozens of Dora toys advertised on commercials that will no doubt be bought up quickly for the coming holiday; I wonder where exactly the money is ending up...

My my, you people certainly can be rude and hateful. I asked a simple yes or no question, which is what this site is designed for. Most of you have been reported due to your "answers" & I hope you will be blocked from this website. In the future, keep your little insults to yourself, especially when speaking to people you dont even know!

I completely agree. I am expecting our first child in December and my husband and I REFUSE to allow our child to watch Dora or sadly even Sesame Street because they teach Spanish. I mean honestly, this is America- not freaking Mexico.

I don't think they're indoctrinating to accept spanish people because there's almost no spanish people in the States. Only 74 thousand. Because spanish people are from Spain, in Europe You're probably thinking about spanish-speaking people, which is something totally different. Like Obama and the Queen of England are english-speaking people, but I'd not say that Obama is an English Person. Btw, nothing against non-spanish spanish-speakers. I love Argentina, I adore Mexican food and music and I really get along with mexicans. It's just that it's plain stupid to consider everyone who speaks the same language part of the same ethnic group.

I hate the spaniards for what they did to the Mexican Indians.
Gee,I wonder what language they spoke? What country they came from?
Really did happen. A woman wanted a deer crossing sign removed because too many deer had been killed at a specified crossing.
Diego was the real name of Zorro. Sorry I could not help it.
What does the commentary have to do with immigration.
Another thing the stories take place in South America.

Well hopefully in watching these types of cartoon our children will learn some acceptance and know that not all kids are the same which is more than I can say for some parents.

why stop with Dora? what about new Bugs Bunny? does he make kids accept evil monster-aliens?
Cartoons lately disappoint me as they are. Aneme is violent (more violent than road-runner), and jerky. I don't think it is healthy for kids to watch the new computerized cartoons. Too many of them already diagnosed with ADD, why make it worse?

no i do not agree. and i hope no one else does. it is a very good cartoon for children. no violence is in it and it teaches them how to count in English and Spanish. my grand children or under 3 and because of this show they can count in English and Spanish and i am very happy they are learning at a young age. one day it might help them. oh their grandfather is a legal mexican. he speaks english and spanish. so it comes in good when the hole family is together. this is my opion. but everyone has the right to their opioion

No, I don't agree. Oh, I hear the hoofbeats of conspiracy. Maybe the money is ending up in the hands of migrant workers so they will arise and take over the world.
If you took a look at Dora, you'd notice that she is not very Mexican looking. It's a shame, but the producers feel that she has to look less ethnic to be accepted.

I don't think so. I think you have to be drawn to her to want to watch her. I have nothing against her but my kids are both boys and were never drawn to her show. So if there is any brainwashing going on, I guess their brains are unimpaired.
Who is Diego?

All I know about that cartoon is that they speak Spanish with really bad accents and the version of Dora in Mexico teaches kids how to speak English with really bad accents.
