This website says that Buster was a stray that he found on a motorway.

Whereas this one refers to Buster as a Bichon Frise

I don't believe that he is a purebred Bichon Frise as they are normally all white ... to me it looks as if Buster may have a bit of Jack Russell in him somewhere too.
