I've been single for way longer than that and believe it or not, it started getting fun when i realised i could use it to my advantage. I have taken some time out to discover myself and grow as a person and i'm glad. There's nothing wrong with being single, society just pretends that single people are aliens but it's not true. I thnk it's better to wait until you know yourself well enough to be certain what you want in a partner. Make friends, be brave and say hi, take time to get to know people you wouldn't normally talk to. Then when you have learned how to interact well with many different kinds of people, and your friendship base has grown a bit, it's entirely possible you will find someone quite naturally.Just keep busy yeah? xxx

Being shy can be quite a challenge, especially for guys...but you have to decide which bothers you more...being shy or being sad that you are single...
If the single issue is the 'worst' of the two, then muster up some courage and approach women you like and see what happens...what's the worst that could happen? If they say no, you are no worse off than you are now...if they say yes, woo hoo!
Good luck!

you sound like a lot of my guy friends. Well it looks like the shy thing isn't getting you anywhere so why don't you just be yourself. If you like a girl go up to her and ask her out, it's better than sitting on the sidelines. A lot of girls like shy guys, it's a sweet and rare quality in a man, it's nice not to see a guy being loud and obnoxious trying to get attention all the time. Shows you have class. Just don't be too shy either. My philosophy.... you have nothing to lose by trying but everything to lose by not trying. What the hell right? just be yourself and remember that even making an *** out of yourself can land you a girl. Good luck and please stay off match.com that site is just plain out trash, you seem to good for that crap.

Why are you shy. You shouldn't! Being shy keeps you from experiencing life. Get out there and be confident. I know my words sound easy, but you need a lot of charisma! Be friendly and out going. Friendly: Cautious and kind not totally friendship, but respectful! Don't be afraid to ask questions and get to know women and what they are like, but don't become a gay buddy type of fellow that hangs out at the malls all day and shops with the women. They like male friends that do that, but they have no intention of hooking up! Be romantic and make it natural not the cheesy thing. Be yourself out of all things! Women should like you for who you are not something you'll be for a short while!

Start approaching people. There is nothing people like more than confident people. Just start talking, or even meet someone in your area online and schedule and VERY public meeting. And if your shy start being a member of a club or activity group where you can meet people. Just be open and make an effort to put yourself out there.

well depends on how old you are, over 18 go to a bar and flirt, under 18, spend time here to make friends, gives you something to do! What about your pal, can't they hook you up-personally I wouldn't but hey, you're sad!
