People have the right to protest. However, the men and women in the military fighting the war are the ones that protect that right to protest. By protesting, you just fuel the fire and encourage the enemy to attack harder. The enemy or terrorists know exactly what is going on here. They know that protesting brings morale among troops down. It just gives them more ammo to fight with because they know the people don't stand behind the troops and what they're doing or fighting for.
Some say that protesting brings the troops home. That's not true. It did nothing for us ever in history. The only thing protesting does is tells the troops that the people don't care about them.
Also, don't give me crap that you support the troops but not the war. You can't have it both ways. War is what the troops do in some form or the other. If you can't support what the troops do, you can't support them. Saying that you do both is 2-faced. Supporting the troops is total and unconditional. It's not based on if they do or don't fight a war. Besides, if the troops believe in what they're doing and the cause they're fighting for, then who is anyone else to say that it's wrong??

I personally find them annoying... Especially at funerals for fallen soldiers or the idiots who have the nerve to stand outside of military bases/posts... Sometimes i want to run them over with my car... I know that they have every right to protest the war but it's not right to do it at the locations that they do... Our troops fight for our freedoms everyday and it's a slap in the face to them when protesters stand about showing their anti-war signs... Not many soldiers agree with the war, but they do believe that the people they are protecting should be doing something more constructive with their time... A good example would be for those protesters to send some goodies to our troops or help sponsor events that will help them with things that our troops really need.... To get back to your question; The protesters are right by doing what they feel is right and exercising their opinions... But they are also wrong by doing so, instead of holding Anti-War signs they should be holding Support our Troops signs... And they should avoid all Military bases/posts and all funeral/memorials of fallen troops....

As a War Protester, with both of my brothers in the military, I feel that I am doing my civic duty as an American when I protest. I believe in truth and accountability, and when my brothers tell me that we are in Iraq because of Saddam's ties to Al Qaida and 9/11...and they actually MEAN it, then I know something is amiss. When the USG must LIE TO ITS OWN SOLDIERS, then I feel I must do my duty to protect some sort of truth for when my brothers return. They may or may not agree with the POTUS and USG, but they SWORE TO PROTECT them with their lives, and they will do so. I am proud my siblings fight for the freedoms I enjoy while they are away. For that, I feel I must fight to ensure they have a free and democratic home to come back to. Forget politics, the Iraq War is a matter of right and wrong. Its too late to stop it, so we must put forth a plan to stabilize Bush's F**K UP and get our families reunited.

I can't speak for others, but I totally support our military. It takes strong conviction to be part of a volunteer armed forces. There are several of my family who are career military...one Air Force, one Navy and one Marines.
That being said, I am completely against the war in Iraq. It is unconscionable to put our men and women in the position where Bush has put them. They are out on the streets and highways of Iraq, much like decoys, to draw the fire of insurgents, in an effort to find them. They are put in the middle of sectarian violence, which they are powerless to diffuse. They deserve to be valued much more and receive much better treatment than the Bush Administration is giving them.
Anyone who has the strength of character to protest this war, at the risk of being called unpatriotic, or worse, being accused of not supporting our troops, has my admiration.

people can protest, that's fine. not that it's going to stop the war. but, people need to get a sense of decency about it. protesting at funerals of departed soldiers is just cruel, rude, indecent and inhuman. these people need to remember that it's the war they are protesting, not the soldiers. support our troops! all they are doing is creating further division, not rallying in unity.

How do you feel about Lawyers that try to re-open cases for Death-Row Convicts! The principal is the same, and right now what is the justification for the war?
Wars are orders to execute people and if it isn't morally justified then such a war is just cold blooded murder!

Americans exercising a constitutional right to protest an illegal war waged against a country that did not threaten or attack us foisted on us with lies. How do I feel about that? MMMMM, let me get back to you on that.

I believe it is America where, (for now,) you have the right to protest. Believing this encourages the enemy to kill more of our soldiers is inane. Were they holding back prior to the protests?

There is no 'us' and 'them', except in our mind.
A little girl, upon seeing an image of the earth taken from outer space, said; "Look mommy, there are no lines!"
I wish we could all see ourselves as one family, and then there'd be less of a wish to kill sisters and brothers who have different opinions and beliefs. Kill them, why, that'd sound barbaric.
Some believe the U.S. are there to promote peace, but with all the injustices our government is guilty of, it would give others reason to attack our country. 9/11 didn't surprise me. There's a lot of arrogance.
Love thy enemy, don't kill them!
